I've received an ARC via NegGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you for the opportunity!
Well, this one didn't work for me.
The book was a struggle, I was bored most of the times and I seriously considered to put it on the DNF-shelf more than once.
Basically, a story is dead for me if I can't sympathize with the hero/heroine and to be honest, this Lana chick annoyed the hell out of me. The whole book is just her endless internal struggle about her feelings towards Jerek.
It's another proof ot the importance of communication. If Lana and Jarek would've behaved like adults and clarified the situation right at the beginning, there wouldn't be the whole silly misunderstanding. But in that case there's nothing to write an annoying novel about, right?
I'm giving two stars because at least they used condoms...
I posted this review on NetGalley and a Hungarian version on my blog as well.

I didn't enjoy this one as much as the first book in the series - especially the second part of it, since I don't really like Ringer. But it still managed to get out of me some WTFs out loud so I guess it was all right after all.
I really needed that last chapter to have some sleep at nights until the third book is out. Can't wait to read it!

Well, I kinda liked this novel. I have to admit, it wasn't as gripping or exciting as I thought it would be, still an enjoyable one-time read. I'm a big fan of suspense and serial killer strories, and tv shows like Criminal Minds, and it's quite hard to surprise me, since I already read or saw technically everything about the subject, so maybe it's my fault that I wasn't ultimately impressed with it. :)
Thank you Jen, for sharing it for free! :)

Well, I'm in trouble when it comes to rating this book. I decided to give 4 stars because all in all, I liked the story, even though I rolled my eyes at some points.
When I read a non-fantasy book, I expect it to be realistic. And honestly, it wasn't exactly. Kat lives in a small town, where everyone knows everyone. In a place like that, everyone is aware if someone new moves in town. And everyone knows if a new teacher comes to school. Still, Kat doesn't have any idea about the new guy when she meets Gavin for the first time. And then during the story, no one notices the scandalous troublemaker's car in front of one of her teachers house. They show up public places together - and never get caught. They interlace their little fingers IN SCHOOL, where anyone could've seen them from the class. Even for a second, but still. Seriously, they were practically screaming for getting caught.
Hailey's pregnancy and the outcome... I've seen that coming from a mile.
I liked the character development in Kat's case, tho - and Dylan's, too.
What can I say... I don't know why but I'm a sucker for student-teacher romances, I've always been. So I quite like to read stories about the subject, and I liked this one, too.

This one really didn't work for me. I had high expectations because of the summary (which sounded pretty promising) and the author (I guess I won't believe in the 'NYT/USA Today bestseller author' titles anymore) but reality didn't meet them.
I thought I'll have a cool dystopian fantasy here, including a badass heroine and a well-built post-apocalypse world. I anticipated a dynamic, exciting story. But all I've got was a poorly written, frustrating mess. It's a mess from the very beginning. The plot is a mess, the characters are horrible, the conversations are stupid, the fighting scenes aren't elaborated (well, any of the other scenes, either), not to mention some chapters are barely more than a few paragraphs. Seriously??
There are so many secrets, so many lies. I guess the way of revealing things was supposed to be making the excitement-level higher, but to be honest, it just makes everything so forced and fake... and extremely annoying. It feels like the author tries way too hard to make this story seem more interesting than it is, and failing pathetically.
To be honest, I don't even understand how or why I finished it, what made me keep reading, as I started considering DNF-ing it when I was about Chapter 5.
This first book of the trilogy was more than enough struggle for me, I won't put up with this anymore; I won't read the sequels. Thanks but no thanks.

I'm giving two stars even though I considered clicking on only one. While reading, I was very close to DNF-ing it so many times that I lost count and I was pulling on my hair by all of the stupidity of this book. I guess there's a reason why it was a freebie in the Kindle store.
My first time re-reading the play in English, as an assignment for one of my classes at the university. It is still horrible in my opinion.
