While this book wouldn’t stand on its own, I really appreciated it as a palette cleanser after all the intense content in book 3. Might be a hot take but I enjoyed it as part of  the arc of the whole series.

This book was super adventurous, and a great intro to the fantasy romance genre. I found the world easy to comprehend and get into. The age gap in this romance to be a bit odd, but I got into it nonetheless. The last 1/3rd of the book was definitely my favorite!

Read this whole book in 2 days! Absolute page turner & gives you a little hope in humanity. Somehow Weir managed to turn a book about the end of the world into a light-hearted adventure. 🚀

Did not finish book. Stopped at 29%.
This book just really didn’t connect with me. I found it a bit obnoxious how often the women were like “hehe no one will ever suspect anything because they think ‘we’re old and so fragile’” . Maybe it’s just because I’m not in that stage of life? Repetitive, slow-paced, and a bit gimicky.

This book felt like a similar vibe to hidden figures. There were points in the story I found myself getting a little bored, but overall very inspiring and honest depiction of women’s experiences  (surprisingly similar to now)
