I started this book, and was roped in trying to figure out what the plot was pretty much the entire time. I’m glad I stuck it out, because the ending was not something I saw coming and I enjoyed the ending thoroughly. The rest of the book just seemed a bit like watching a reality show, and I just didn’t know the point until I was 80% done. Overall, it was good because of the surprising ending.

Beautifully and thoughtfully written, so many different topics touched on and handled so seamlessly. The topics of race, family, and society were all prevalent and made this book feel like an emotional ride for me. I loved it, just absolutely loved it.
