I feel sort of meh. The last like 5 chapters were so good… but I feel like the rest of the book was sooooo sllllllow. And it jumped around so so much. I had a hard time keeping up with where we were for each character. I did love the ending and I am excited for the next book but damn this one was so hard to get through for me!

I didn’t hate it, but I didn’t love it. I feel like there are other fantasy books out there with this exact plot that are so much better. I figured out the twist in the beginning of the story right away and from then on the story just sort of stayed at a plateau for the rest of the book. It’s a easy read if you are looking for a YA Fantasy but it just fell sort for me and left me feeling meh.

What. A. Wild. Ride!!! I felt like I was reading a personal diary/journal… I just love the way Tarryn writes. Pouring herself into every word. This was one of those books that pulls you in and takes you on a crazy ride and just when you think it’s done… surprise there’s one more intense drop. This book was dark, messy, ugly, but so beautiful. I am blown away by the last paragraph and sitting here with a dropped jaw… what the fuck did I just read!?

Not gonna lie… I went into this book for the smut factor and boy did it deliver 🌶🌶🥵 but more than that I truly enjoyed this retelling!! I have loved learning and reading about Greek mythology since high school so this + some really good sexy scenes was *chefs kiss* for me! I loved loved loved sunshine, bratty Persephone. I am lusting after grumpy, dark, Hades. They are the bisexual duo I never knew I needed but fell head over 🐱 for. Excited to read Electric Idol and see what happens next!

Wow. I am basically speechless right now. I LOVED THIS BOOK!! It was such an emotional powerful read. Love Tierney!.. her strengths… her beliefs... her fire... her compassion and her loyalty. But also her need for change. I was sucked in on page one didn't want to come up for air until I had turned the final page. I read it in just four sittings, though it would have been just one had real life not been interfering. Read it. Read it. READ IT!!

I loved the first book, loved the build up and how it really built up the storyline… but OMG I am in love with where this book took us. I feel like so much happened and the second half of the book… I could not put it down. I went into this book thinking I knew where it was going but I was WRONG… so so very wrong!!! Celaena is a badass… I LOVE Chaol… I hope Dorian keeps down the path he’s currently on… and the plot TWISTS (yes plural) my jaw feel open so many times. So excited to continue to fall in love with this series!!

I wanted to like this more. Right off the bat it gave me Good Girls Guide to Murder vibes with the kid trying to solve the case… but it soon fell flat for me. Too many characters, I felt that there were a few story lines that could have been left out (Regan’s son for example), and I figured out the killer quickly simply bc it was the only one that made since as the story plot was built. Also I felt like the whole last chapter could have been nixed, it was basically a recap of the whole book. I think it should have ended when the killer was caught and the last entry of the journal. I basically skimmed the last chapter.  All in all not a HORRIBLE book, I enjoyed parts of it, but I just fell like there’s better books with the same plot line.

I finished this book last night (3.11.22) and I just…. I literally have no words… this was my first read of Tarryn Fisher and I am just blown away with how this woman writes. This book sucked me in from the beginning. But it was how the story grew and how the characters grew that made me fall in love. This story… I don’t even know how to explain it… a thriller meets romance but not a traditional romance… but it’s all so so complicated and beautiful and messy and ughhhh… This book made me think… gave me chills and tears and tore my heart apart… just read it and PAY ATTENTION TO EVERYTHING.

I… I am just…. Woah. That was not what I was expecting in this ending!!! I immediately ran to Amazon and bought the rest of the series because I HAVE TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS!!! I will say… I was a little confused towards the end when S & D do their little breakup performance and then the rest of the book felt a little rushed and confusing… but I still very much enjoyed it and I am excited to see what happens with this storyline!!

I am just a bit baffled by the story and where it led. It just seems so far fetched and unrealistic. A camp with kids being tormented and COPS DO NOTHING!? Hell no, would never happen. I am honestly surprised I didn’t DNF this one. It took me FOREVER to get through it. And I don’t even want to get into that absolutely mess of an ending.
