Maybe I would have like the book more if it wasn’t so hyped. A few of the twists were well done, but for the most part the foreshadowing felt heavy handed and obvious. I also despised the main character. You could smell the crazy on her from the beginning but nothing really came from the crazy other than her being an unreliable narrator. But again, it was so heavy handed that I knew her unreliability was just there to distract you. Overall, it felt very much like a debut novel—clunky at times and the characters not quite fleshed out right. The ending was sweet though.
