the irony in the way mateo died made me sob, wtf. this book just pumps out quotes and somehow brings you to care about every character you meet even if we only know them for a few pages. the author did a stunning job building the bond between our main characters and somehow still made the end heart wrenching even though the title essentially spoils the ending. absolutely recommend to people who read for the characters and not the plot, this is your kind of book :)

HOWARD MY BELOVED, that’s all. cute romance and even cuter romance with the mc’s mother. i was honestly more invested in the flashbacks than the actual story but it was a great read nonetheless

addie is a much more enjoyable mc than her predecessor, lina, and her story is just as compelling. i absolutely hate the writer of the little “heartbreak in ireland” interludes and i wish she would shut up. other than that, all of the family/sibling dynamic, adorable new friendships, and exploration of ireland makes the book a super fun and quick read :)

if mamma mia brings you unbridled joy, and you quite like the disney movie “atlantis: the lost empire”, then read this book. i’ve decided that i must marry a greek man or i’ll never be happy ever. i’d say this is my favorite of the 3 books set in this universe, with the best male interest and backstory for the mc. the young romance is absolutely adorable <33 also, bapou gives me major groot vibes in the best way possible (be warned there’s some talk of mental health / nightmares in the book)

super rushed, nothing really made sense or got developed but i needed a quick read to get me out of a slump and this did it for me. really easy and light hearted read, overall just pleasant and nothing more

besties i read the book bc of the webtoon comic and people always say “the book was better” but in this case i don’t think i could choose which media form i preferred bc they both did an outstanding job of telling the story. a very unique and modern universe with all sorts of mythological creatures, corrupt governments, and morally gray characters, it’s everything i could ask for. the main character is not relatable in obvious ways but she’s easy to sympathize with and it’s hard not to love her, super excited for the sequel and to further explore this universe
