Talk about a story that blew me away! I chose it on a whim... and I'm so glad I did!

REBUILDING CHARLIE is an amazing story. It's a love story, a found family story, and a survivor's story with amazing mental health representation. I ate this one up, y'all!

Charlie moves across the country where his college best friend and her wife are renovating and operating a motel - The Black Dog Inn. Charlie seems to be doing a little bit of everything there while trying to live in his newly nontoxic environment.

Teague is a gentle giant of a man. But he has a bad meet-disaster with Charlie *who he is immediately taken with.*

While Charlie and Teague maneuver around misunderstandings and boundries all while getting to know each other, and eat a monstrous amount of cupcakes - we get to know all these great side characters, and the doggos, and assorted relatives & neighbors. We also learn a little bit about Charlie's body dysmorphia, and even though it isn't strictly mentioned, the man also has PTSD.

Learning about Charlie's brain and boundaries was wonderful and terrible because his brain and his body are not fun places to be. But Charlie is a WONDERFUL main character, and all I wanted was for him to find some happiness.

Teague wasn't a perfect man, but he was perfect for Charlie. His patience and kindness, and sense of humor were exactly what Charlie needed. I liked how even in his thoughts, Teague wasn't expecting their LOVE to heal Charlie's mental health issues. He just loved and respected Charlie. The tenderness and affection he doted on Charlie with was Chef's kiss!

Honestly, what a dreamboat.

This book was great. I absolutely loved it. It's available now, and so is book two... which I plan to read soon. Probably tomorrow πŸ˜‚

REBUILDING CHARLIE was an absolute banger of a book. If you're looking for smut, this isn't really gonna meet that mark. But the storytelling is great, and the characters will drag me back to this series because I wanna see how they all are doing. Absolutely recommend!

FLASH by KM Neuhold was a damn delight. I was laughing and cackling and swooning right along with Lewis. Neuhold has the ability to mix the mundane absurdity of everyday life with love stories that make it feel like YES. A disaster twink florist like Lewis exists. A loveable silver fox tattooer exists. Of course, they fall in love.

Lewis is "too much" - he's needy, obsessive, and regularly puts the cart before the horse in relationships.

Arrow is "too much" - he's obsessive, possessive, and very much "he's mine." He's the guy daydreaming proposals before two weeks.

They meet in a rain storm. On the side of the road. The chemistry is instant.

This book has a ton of ridiculous antics. Loveable queer tattooer bikers and drama prone florists. There's a prank war, stories of previous INSTANCES at a car garage πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚, found family, oblivious dummies, rubber ducks, a traveling petting zoo cameo, Gregory *a teeny tiny dog*, plant puns, and two dudes who want a relationship so bad that they are legitimately startled when they figure out they're in one.

FLASH is a perfect low angst read for a day when you're wanting a giggle. There's some πŸ”₯ spicy scenes and a big moment that felt like this emoji -> 🫣.

I loved these two weirdos. I love this little universe. I can't wait for Rowan's story. And Jag's. And Piston's.

I am so in my feelings right now.

Real talk: If you wanna read a spectacularly written ace spectrum or aro spectrum book,  Riley ALWAYS does it to perfection. Believe me.

COVINGTON ACRES brings us back to Briar County, NC. And I'm so glad to be here, honestly. This little town has my heart, and these characters are absolutely brilliant.

Colby Covington is the baby of the Covington family. At 40, he works at his family's farm because that's what he's always done. He dates because that's what he's expected to do. But now it's "Colby’s never going to grow up." or "You should think about settling down." He tries to be everything for his family, but he doesn't really know himself or what he wants.

Vince O’Brien (yes, THAT VINCE!) moves to Briar County after a bad breakup. He is starting over for the last time. He's giving up on relationships. He's a hookup man from now on. What he doesn't expect is to fall into the friendship of his life with Colby.

Vince and Colby are roommates. Then friends. Then best friends. Then soulmate best friends. Vince SEES Colby like no one else ever has.

Things HAPPEN.
Discoveries are made.
Conversations happen.
Thank god for Google.

If you're looking for a small town romance filled with family and found family, amazing friends, community, hard work, first crushes, big feelings, and the RIGHTNESS that comes from getting to know yourself - well, this is the book for you.

The communication is so HEALTHY.

This book was so good. As someone who spent a lot of time feeling broken, Riley really pulls the heart strings in a way that works perfectly for these mcs and also resonates with my own feelings and experiences.

Let's be real, too - the spice was spicing. So not only do we get a good romance, we get some spice too. But for me, their HEA just really hit the spot. I wanted these two to get everything they ever wanted, maybe even what they didn't know they wanted.

The scene with ----- in the kitchen at ------ ------ was so perfect. The perfect blend of big moment - meets - emotional volcano.

I love this series.
Will we get a Wyatt/Sean book?

Humility by Lark Taylor

Oh, WOW. This story was... so incredibly good.

πŸ’š Alpha wolf shifter/human
πŸ’š Friends to lovers
πŸ’š IDIOTS to lovers
πŸ’š Co-dependency
πŸ’š F*c kb oi meets f*c kb oi
πŸ’š Chosen mates

I'm not really sure what I was expecting when I started HUMILITY. But I can tell you I SHOULD have known that Lark Taylor would pack an emotional punch - like she always does.

Humility was a great blend of humor, cuteness, ridiculousness, dummies, found family, shifters, possessiveness, codependency, grief, and love.

Throughout this story, I laughed, gasped, cried, and even cheered! In the other books, I was never really attached to Danny or Riley, but now I want to reread the series, from the beginning, to see them as side characters once again.

Riley and Danny are absolute dum mies. Honestly. They loved each other SO MUCH, and their obliviousness was out of this world. Maybe even uncharted. It was so cute and ridiculous.

This wouldn't be a Lark book if there wasn't a BIG Moment, and Humility's big moments delivered.

I want to write so much more... but everything I want to say would be [REDACTED].

For example:
When Danny was [redacted] and he and Leo were [readacted] ... the moment I realized [redacted] was in [redacted] and the [redacted] ... I was thunderstruck. It couldn't be real! Then Danny [redacted] and he was [redacted] and then _____ & _____ were there and they realized [redacted] ... I started crying!

Or:
_________ fifth.

It's not as devastating as Patience, but honestly, what really could be? But Danny and Riley were sweet, and I loved them. I loved Danny's surety, and I totally understood Riley.

And the whole app thing where Riley [redacted] and then DANNY.... 🫣πŸ”₯πŸ₯΅ I was so here for it.

What a story!!!

OFF THE CLOCK is a firefighter/retired Army Ranger, small town, age gap romance. There's mental health rep, found family, and a sugary sweet HEA.

Off the Clock takes place in the small town of Mount Hope. These love stories are around a group of fri3nds finding their loves, and they're all first responders in some way.

Caleb was such a sweetheart. The references to "his crushes" was heartbreaking. And his back story. 😭😭😭 He just wanted LOVE, and he was such a good guy. I was so so thrilled when Tony got his act together.

Tony is coming out of 20 years as a Ranger, moving into his second act, and... well, 20 years of hiding being bisexual on top of Army related PTSD isn't gonna be a walk in the park.

We get so much of their back stories, their feelings, their sneaking around. We get the looks, the meet-ups, and the tapping on windows. But we also get friends that are closer than family. We get small town big moments.

Annabeth does great big moments.

I'm not gonna lie... there were a couple of places in the book where I cried buckets. This is a great series - especially if you're looking for a small town romance with "older MCs".

Don't sleep on this series!

The next book is going to be off the rails, I even slid into Annabeths DMs to freak out. There were lots of emojis and me SCREAMING CRYING THROWING UP.

Oh my god, did I LOVE this story!!! I'll admit this to you, my dear friends, but I think METHOD ACTING is my favorite FU2 books far.

Chase and Amos are theatre majors with big Hollywood dreams. Their final project is a 90210/Melrose Place style reality TV production where the cast will be method acting. They BECOME those characters 24/7 until production is over.

These two were so into each other. And so so oblivious.

Chase is the man wh or e fuc k b oi with a heart of gold. Energetic golden retriever with a filthy mind and heart of gold. Doesn't want to be the boyfriend or have feelings.

Amos is the loner. He dresses "emo" πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ jeans and band tees with Converse. He loves James Dean and is our "grumpy." He has a low battery for social interaction.

Of course, these two get paired up to be together. Their chemistry is immediate and immaculate. A million out of 5 stars.

Communication: on point.
 Conversations around consent: perfect.
 The banter: chef's kiss.

I love that they didn't want to be the "queer break up" couple. They wanted to show a happy and healthy relationship. Even as a passing part of the story, I loved that.

These two were so cute and ridiculous, and I loved them. AND the side characters. The story was original and cool, and I feel very old.

But I really enjoyed their love story.
I will definitely be rereading for the over the top-ness.

And their spicy scenes were great too!
 And the theatre references.
 And the 90s TV vibe.
 Absolute perfection.

"He's not the stayin' kind. He has a boyfriend."

Ugh. Roe Covington, rip my heart out already.

FIREFLY LANE is wonderful. Especially if you like stories with older mcs, small towns, mixed families, found family, and a city boy who has walls wrapped up around his heart.

Monroe Covington is small town royalty. He runs the local feed store, helps his family and their farm, and focuses his time raising the son he had with his best friend. He HELPS. Anyone. Everyone. All the time. He's a good man who wants to do right. When a woman & her son need a place to stay, Roe rents them his little "mother in law" cabin on his property.

Holden never wanted to come back to "country loving" but would do anything for his sister. She needed help, and he came. The neighbor is a hottie, too. And when he finally meets Roe, said neighbor, the insta-chemistry is off the charts.

Holden and Roe become friends. The flirting is strong, and over time *what feels like forever, in a good way!* the two give in to each other.

Roe is afraid to fall, knowing Holden can't stay.

Holden is afraid to let anyone in and love. He doesn't think he's worthy.

But these two 😭😭😭😭😭 they want to do right by everyone in their life and frequently put themselves at the bottom of the list. They're perfect for each other.

This is Riley writing small town perfection. I loved their chemistry and their communication. I loved their devotion to their families. I just loved them... and Covington Farm's obsession with Activities with 🐐 Goats is just too funny. Honestly. Movies. Yoga. What's next?

The spice was nice, and seeing older mcs *my age* get their HEA is always a joy. Definitely recommend!!!!!!

Am I excited to read all these little shorties? Yes. Did I skip all the way to the end to Lark Taylor's contribution first? Absolutely, I did.

THE TO-DO LIST is a brother's best friend, "it's always been you," bi-awakening, first-time novella with BIG FEELINGS. And, it takes place for a while, at The Closet.

Archie has always had a thing for his brother's best friend Zack. But Archie's about to start university, and he refuses to go a virgin. Since Zack isn't an option, Archie is determined to get d*cked down by a random at the club.

... but guess who is there?!

We get a cameo or two, and a little bit of Zack and Archie's feels before they fall into horniness.

Lark is always a winner.
I'll get to the other stories, I swear.

"Are you... shy?"
This scene.
OH MY GOD.

FELIX was a delicious blend of kinky & dirty & squishy sweet. I ADORED this book and these characters.

Emil *Felix* is the nerdy, quiet psychology student who side hustles at Elite 8 Studios. He's been an actor there for years because he loves it, it's good money, his friends are there and... he's an exhibitionist. Like... a real one. The way it's written is PERFECT.

Also, side note, the crab storyline, yes... actual hermit crabs, was beyond cute. I die.

Christian *Vixen* has a new nerdy neighbor, and he can see right into his window. [[[Redacted storyline, but OMG screaming crying throwing up]]] He starts work at Elite 8 and recognizes Emil.

The mcs have incredible chemistry.
Inside AND outside the studio.

Alex's enchantment over Christian's "femboy-ness" was pretty much all of us as we got to know Christian and his personality and his style. And the way it translates in the studio... I have no words.

But this wasn't all exhibitionism and skirts. Or cute hermit crabs with even cuter names.

Emil and Christian have family drama. And life stuff. And it's so well done and so relatable.

The side characters? The other actors: amazing.
The new side characters introduced? Lovely.
Seeing Mal and Henrick again? Showstopping.

These two mcs were EVERYTHING. I loved them. I loved them so much 😭😭😭😭

I could honestly read another dozen of these stories. Like Trevor *Bruiser* and his husband and [[[redacted]]]. How did it happen? Or Jerome?! I want to know all about him! He's the best! And BRAD! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ he's a trip every time he pops up! I wish this series could go on forever. Emmy, keep writing them, and I'll keep reading them!

I can't recommend FELIX or the other Elite 8 Studio books enough. Emmy is the best, and these books are just so so great.

FELIX will be available to read FRIDAY JULY 18th

Dix : Dixon and Niko
Malibu : Mal and Henrick
Tink : Alex and Finn and Rowan
Himbo : Cas and Jason ..... and Brad, the oblivious bff
