This book gave me all the feels! It delivered on the drama, the building of relationships, and just the overall pack life.
You still get a look into how trauma from your past can continue to haunt you in many ways. But the men of this book again care for Juno so unconditionally you yourself feel like you are being healed along with her.
A little more plot action and a lot more spice happen in this book. I couldn't put this one down and finished this duology in 2 days.

I definitely felt for Juno in the book and fell in love with her new pack all at the same time. The trauma that this Omega goes through was just insane. The pack was so perfectly balanced to accommodate everything that she didn't even know she needed to move on from her past.

Left me hanging with drama on the cusp of happening and knew I was going to have to find out what happened next!

Another amazing edition to the series. Rebecca Yarros has left us yearning for more once again and leaving us with probably even more questions than what we had at the end of Iron Flame.

I am absolutely in love with how Violet came into herself and her confidence this book and finally put her foot down with her ideas and what was happening with her dragons.

Iron squad as always showing us how ride or die friends should look like. Also our boy Ridoc 🥰 really stepping in and make Violet see that her friends will always be there for her.

I died at all of the banter. I held my breath more than once. I cried a handful of times. And when I finally closed the book my first thought was “Now I have to wait what 2 years for answers”.

In my opinion this was a great third book to fill in more world building, more lore, and of course answer questions and still leaving us with newer ones to take their place. Well done, well done.

(Definitely recommend if you are a sucker for Rom-coms)

Ophelia and Phillip are so lovable. IndIvidually I definitely wanted to throttle them multiple times during the book.

Marriage of convenience between two best friends definitely means nothing could go wrong. Realizing the truth of their feelings though is where the throttling began.

The Rom-com vibes within a cute setting of a vineyard makes it the perfect February book!

Storm chasing, forbidden romance, sexual tension (and not just with the main characters), plus broody meets takes no crap attitude. Ya another great book from Kayla Grosse!

Now I’m a sucker for storm chasing and adding this relationship between Professor West and Finley just added the perfect amount of spice and humor to it.

I was instantly sucked into (no pun intended) into this story and couldn’t put it down. Even with it having a couple tropes I’m not usually drawn too. BUT I knew from having read all her other books I was going to equally enjoy this one. I appreciate there wasn’t sooo much emphasis on the age gap and the professor/student tropes other than to just make the tension even high between the two character.

A near death experience breaks the  sexual tension that’s been building between them since Finely started Ryker’s course. Instant regrets but for the moral reasons puts us on edge for how the weekend of storm chasing. In comes the lovable side characters (whom I’m gonna need more back story on) and instantly sexual tension and possessiveness projects from our Tornado Daddy.

This is my favorite book of Kayla’s yet. Trick Shot meets lumberjack. You get the hot spice and the sweet romantics. The characters are a perfect balance for each other and versatile as well. Burley, closed off, dominant in Fox. Confident, curvy, tatted babe in Morgan. And closing out with our caring, strong, new to the kink world in Nathan.
To me this book had a little bit of everything and I giggled so much. I knew it was a 5⭐️ book before I was half way.

I initially started this book Dec of 2023 and had to put it down after getting 15% in. I was not ready to read that heavy of a plot line and moved on to other books. Flash forward to this year and I decide to pick it back up after a full year of reading very diverse books.

As always H. D. Carlton’s writing is extremely enjoyable. The transformation that Adeline has in this book is heartbreaking and commendable for what she goes through.
Being sold into sex trafficking, abused on all levels possible, and finally running for her life; this woman is so strong. She fights back to not only squash her demons, but come physically stronger in order to take down those that hurt her.

Zade as always is dark and cruel but shows you how much he loves Adeline in this book.
Sibby was hilarious and was happy to see more of her this round.

Eventually I will get around to reading the rest of the books that align with their story.

“You deserve special, Lemon,” I voice“

I adored Kade and Presley. Having this book basically start up where the first one left off was perfect.

Both the main characters go on such a development journey and deal with similar issues. Kayla once again shinning light on things we struggle with in real life definitely makes it easier to connect with the characters.

Anxiety, depression, family, new start; it’s all there for the taking. If you are a fan of Kayla’s this is def worth the read.

Smoke and Scar is exactly what I didn’t know I needed for a Fantasy read this year!

I absolutely adore Elyria (FMC). From her wit and banter to her strong sense of self, even at her lowest, she was def a character I was rooting for and was punching my fist in the air during fights. As for the rest of the troupe of champions; they added a great balance to her and the progression of the story. I may have a soft spot for a couple of them as well.

This is a 10/10 for anyone looking for fantasy, slow burn, with a flair of a competition to keep everything interesting. You get a variety of “Arcanians”(magic wielded), humans, trials, magic system, and world building.
Can’t wait to get my hands on this book trophy!
