I’m not quite sure where to begin with this book. It’s both in my comfort zone of fantasy, but out of my comfort zone with it being like a coming-of-age. It was a perfect mix.
It felt poetic for me, with what being a dragon meant. How it used it to supply a wonderful feminist story of young women and their pride. Although there was no action, heavy stakes, or a world-ending plot; I was rooting for Alex and for her to grow as a character. And she certainly grew.
I adore this book, and I love what it stands for.

Finishing this book at 1am is truly the best feeling, I feel like I’m in heaven.
This is my first romance book. I generally only read fantasy novels so this was new territory for me. And I’m glad it was my first. Although I much preferred the second half over the first, it was enjoyable.
I enjoyed Ellie to a degree. I liked the messaged she portrayed. I just wished she did a little more to push the plot along. Poor girl was being rammed with plot point after plot point like she was a child in the ocean being crushed by waves. But once she started taking control, it was great. It suited her character for the most part but I still wish she pushed the plot along herself.
The plot was humorous in its own way, some moments making me gasp like a dramatic Victorian woman falling onto a velvet fainting couch. And even the predictable moments still make me sit gasping. The dialogue was relatable and engaging. Along with that, it has an excellent assortment of side characters. It was never a dull moment during the second half.
Definitely enjoyed. Glad it was my romance. Felt very engrossed even with the lack of magic, fairies, and sword fighting!

I had to read this for my Science Fiction course and I enjoyed it. It’s intriguing. Not much to really say about it. I enjoyed the characters, and little bit of the word we see and hear and seeing the development that happen so quickly. Currently my favourite short story I’ve read on the class.

The world is brilliant. But man I had a hard time keeping up with it all. However I’m ready to dive in to understand it better. The Shadow Fold, the Grisha theory, the power is just fascinating.
I liked Alina a lot, I did wish we got to see her map making skills in action but I enjoyed her as a main protagonist overall. Mal was cool and they’re an iconic duo, but I’m going to need more time to warm up to him. The Darkling was rad as hell.
Definitely going to read the second one right away and can’t wait to get consumed by this entire universe. Wish me luck!

I love the Studio Ghibli film with all my heart. So going into this, I expected to like it too but not be as invested because I already knew what to expect. But BOY I was WRONG.
Sophie and Howl’s relationship is hilarious. I adore them and Jesus Christ I was an eight season long comedy show of them pissing eachother off. The comedy in this is just *amazing*.
There were so many plot points that the movie left out, so I was having an amazing time. The world was fun, the characters were fun, the dialogue was fun, everything was fun!
I enjoyed this a lot and happy I read it!

This book is just W O W.
I discovered this book on Twitter by a user named Bigolas Dickolas Wolfwood. Who specifically instructed people to read it but not look up anything about this book. And it compelled me, so I followed. I knew nothing of the book, just that it was science fiction because of my library’s genre sticker on the spine. And this was probably the best surprise I have ever met.
It’s hard to praise the amazing qualities of this book without spoilers. The plot is amazing, the writing is gorgeous, and the characters are incredibly, interesting and will make you wept quietly in the dark at midnight.

I enjoyed the first one, it was good. But I liked this one a lot more.
The development of all the characters was so compelling. Especially Voya’s development. I loved her a lot in this one, she really meant action. I especially love how everyone in the family had their own chance to grow and development. This one really focused on flaws of the characters and letting them grow which was so nice to see.
The plot has much higher stakes compared to the first one as well. I was hooked to it. And the twists and turns the story took were amazing.
I was iffy on where or not I was going to read this. But I’m glad I did!

Holy hell, this was a ride.
Honestly, there’s not much I can say about this other than it was emotionally brilliant. I’m sure other reviews that praise it do it far more justice. But this book truly deserves all of the praise it receives.
I’m hoping the movie (if not a rumour) does it justice as well.
