I am such a sucker for slice of life paranormal books, especially with the heavy use of found family troupe. Oh, how I yearn to be paranormal.

I love everything about this book. The characters are everything and the plot was super fun. If there was any chance at a sequel, I would eat it UP. Such a fantastic book to start my new obsession with F.T. Lukens.

THANK YOU so much, Simon Teen, for sending me this ARC. I am completely and utterly obsessed with it.

I have a hard time liking this book. I think the premise is really good and has a fantastic set up, but the execution was repetitive and dragged out. I commonly had to read about Oat's "Bottle Green Eyes" and the fact that the Goode family curse is so tragic, and I get it, the curse is the main plot of the book, but why do I have to be reminded every other page. I'm aware of how terrible the curse is!

The book could've easily been a short story with 100 less pages, or stayed the same length if it had more events in the book.

The strength it takes to be so open about yourself regarding addiction, transgender identity, and the art you want to make in this world is very empowering.

My first introduction to Tommy Dorfman was through the announcement of one of my favorite queer books being turned into a movie. Her name came up once again for the casting of Romeo + Juliet on Broadway. Despite not seeing her on Broadway or her debut feature film, I have never stopped supporting her or her work.

It’s hard to be transgender in this world. It’s hard to find your place, be strong, and give yourself grace. People like us are special. Something I loved reading in this book was Tommy’s Mother telling her that she is a light in this world, which is the same thing my mother has been telling me for years as I navigate my own transgender journey. It was a nice message to look on as a reader.

Thank you so much, Hanover Square Press, for sending me an ARC of Maybe This Will Save Me. Truly a wonderful read to start off my summer

The way I'm obsessed with this book.

I don't even know where to begin. The best way to describe this book is Hunger Games mixed with Percy Jackson, but the main character is Nico di Angelo and the book is EXTREMELY queer. It's everything I could ever want in a dystopian fantasy book.

Despite loving the storyline, I felt a bit conflicted about the relationships that were developing in the story. It's not like I wasn't a fan, because as soon as their friendship relationship situationship evolved, oh boy, I was ecstatic. It was honestly the best outcome I could've seen coming, it was either that or nobody should've been dating each other.

Needless to say, this is such a fun story and I can't wait for people to read it this month.

Oh, this book is EVERYTHING to me.

I love a good "and they were roommates" trope in a book, but combine that with one of them secretly being trans and hiding the fact that he had a romantic past with his roommate before he transitioned? I'm completely obsessed.

This story is more than that, though. It shows Charlie's growth and acceptance for himself and for being a student at Valentine's Academy for Boys, which is such a huge part of this book on top of navigating Jasper Grimes as a person, roommate, poet, and past lover.

I can't wait for everyone to fall in love with the characters in this book. It's such a fun story to start off the summer and let's be honest, the title ALONE should peak everyone's interest.

Thank you so much Macmillan Children's Publishing Group and Roaring Brook Press for the ARC. This was by far one of my most anticipated reads this year and I am thrilled to be given the opportunity to read this book.
