i really really really enjoyed this book.
i read it in one sitting i couldn’t stop.
i would describe this book as a robin hood retelling (kind of). This story is set in a word where a deadly disease threatens the lives of the people and the cure is only available to the ones who have money. Tessa, an outlaw, steals the petals necessary to cure the sickness from the powerful and offers the substance to the ones who need it but can’t afford it. In this process, she looses her partner and gets herself in the middle of the palace, interacting with the ones she swore to forever hate, to get her revenge and find a way to help the ones who need it.
this book was full of twists and turns, such an appealing theme and wonderful characters.
i really liked Tessa, she was an interesting and fun character, i can’t wait to see what she’s up to next.
but now ladies and gentlemen, the star of the show CORRICK. goddamn, i never felt this way about a male love interest before. he saw me, he understood me, he had the same thought as i, ugh perfection (kind of in a bad way but amazing nonetheless). such a complex and intriguing character, you can’t hate him, there’s no way. i will defend him with my life. i love him.
overall a great introduction to this new world full of amazing characters and plot points. would recommend if you want a YA fantasy romance.
