i have never read anything like this book. so incredibly poignant, and confessional and utterly heartbreaking at every moment, it was just enrapturing. this book is such a brilliant depiction of mental illness, and such deep yearning and desire that comes with love, bordering on infatuation. i think the way that miaojin is able to capture such visceral emotion so succinctly is a fuckin marvel, i have felt so moved by this piece.
