I, Claudius

Robert Graves

DID NOT FINISH: 34%
emotional hopeful slow-paced

the characters are wonderfully fleshed out. the prose was tepid and plot trope-y. references a lot of keystone black activists with no thoughtful commentary on how their legacies affect the black community apart from militancy v nonviolence.

the minority cognitive dissonances are wonderfully portrayed though i did feel they should have been explored more

go read tkam or beloved... probably more profound than this book
