Vikings, epic battles, and incredible world building and character development. Loved this one. it was a good switch up from the thriller I read.
This story was thru and thru amazing. Emani the main character was everything i love in a strong female protagonist. Really all the characters were amazing. Elizabeth has not disappointed me once in her writing and story telling. I have to say i think is my new number 1 favorite over the poet x
This book was just unnecessary with the sexual bits and just overall drove me nuts…i am so glad i got this through the library and didnt spend hard earned money with this one. Definitely not going in my mini library. Sorry just definitely not for me any part of this and happy to leave this book behind to never be talked about again.
I've always enjoyed orwells writing. His creativity is incredible and definitely a classic I will reread for years to come. loved 1984 and definitely loved this one. The audiobook was really good and definitely recommend it to read along with the book.
What an incredible storyteller. i am so obsessed with Acevedo's writing style. This story was gut wrenching but the unity really shined through this all the way through. So glad I listened to this one. Definitely a story I wont forget.
Again another book I've read in my teenage years during the summer and again not a fan of Jane Austen. May appreciate it more now that I'm in my mid 30s but till then continues to remain on my most hated books list.
After so many times of having to restart this one I have to say that twist at the end was pretty good. I thought the story could have been shorter and dragged a lot but this was a good quick read to listen to get out of this major reading slump that I'm in.
Ugh this is probably going to be an unpopular opinion but I did not like this book. I stopped reading this about 50% of the way in and don't plan to pick it up again. I stopped reading and picked back up because I got distracted during my book clubs month (august 2020) of picking this book but I can officially lay this one to rest. I just realize these contemporary style books are just not my thing and that is okay. Though I did not like this one, I still would recommend someone to read this if you are into a suburbia style standalone books with stereotypical neighbors/characters with life obstacles.
Though Celeste Ng was spot on with how the shaker heights area is because I am near Cleveland/shaker heights area I just was bored from the very beginning of this book. I live within it so I personally don't want to read about it when I live within it on a daily basis. *grimace face* I just know now this book was not for me since I am gravitated towards sci-fi and fantasy style books, I figured I would give it a try because I saw the TV series. I'd be curious on the TV series but I have a feeling its not going to be for me either.
