Roll for Romance by Lenora Woods is a romance novel where the two main characters are falling in love in more ways than one. Sadie, after losing her job, flees to her best friend's apartment in Texas. He just happens to be starting a D&D campaign full of newbies, and since she has no reason not to join, she is coming in full force to play.
Sadie and Noah, both having never played D&D, are hitting it off both in and out of the game! This book was a fun spin on your traditional romance novel, where we got both the real-life trials and tribulations, but also getting to see the tabletop RPG game run its course! This is one of the first books with a fantasy parallel story running as the main characters' gaming characters, and I absolutely loved it! This was such a cool added feature to the book and storyline overall, especially as someone who loves D&D!
I overall really enjoyed this book. I loved all of the gaming and role-playing aspects. I also enjoyed Sadie finding herself and growing as a person to take charge of her life and what she wants. I also liked the found family aspect in this book, where all of these people she meets for the first time to play a game are now her biggest supporters. I also have a soft spot for Noah; he was so sweet and supportive, and I was rooting for them from the beginning.
Thank you to Netgalley and Random House Publishing Group - Ballantine | Dell for the ARC to review.

This is my first novel by Anna P., and I love the confident and powerful female lead, so I am excited to read more of their work. I enjoyed that both these main characters immensely! Vera had me hooked. I love seeing women in high-powered positions in books, and the fact that she is older and knows what she wants and still has fun had me sold. Elias was such a cool MC. He is looking for someone to blow off steam for one night and can’t get enough. Elias’s support and unwavering confidence for Vera were enduring and showed his care, attention, and intentions. I loved the banter between them and the “Peaches & Superstar” nickname; it was so cute!
The middle of this book was slow, and I briefly lost interest. I had a hard time finishing it because it stopped holding my interest. However, this could also be a mood reader issue rather than a problem with the author. That said, the premise of this book and the writing were very well done.
This book is rich with culture on every page. I loved the book set in India. It's really cool to see more representation of books set in India. The culture, expectations, and food were awesome on the page. I loved that there was no third-act breakup, but external factors were trying to break them up
Overall, I enjoyed this book and had a great time finishing it after I picked it back up!
Thank you to Anna P. for the ARC copy for an honest review.
