As usual, the Pope of Trash does it again. Liarmouth is rude, strange and a little sexy-everything fans of John Waters look for in his work. The characters were strange but oddly relatable at times and the plot was silly but moved in a way that kept me reading and I ended up finishing the book in two afternoons. An interview in Variety (2022) says that Water’s is directing a film adaptation of Liarmouth and I’m already looking forward to it.

Once I fell into the “groove” of the narrator shifts in the story, I really loved this book.

Celebrity memoirs are a new genre to me and I read this on a random “spin” in my Libby app but it ended up being surprisingly enjoyable. While I can’t say I had any definitive **thoughts** about Pamela Anderson, this was such a nice look into her as a whole person and not just a pop culture symbol.

From start to finish, there was not a single short story in this anthology that I didn’t love. I can’t wait to see this make its way into academic circles and seen taught in Literature classes.
