Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck

I personally love books about friendship. They make me happy. This book though. What a tragedy! I’m usually not an over emotional person, but the character got into my heart and when “the thing” happened I got sad, because Lennie wasn’t bad. People didn’t know about that stuff back then. And idk it just hurt me because he was so innocent and he died.

I really loved this book. I think it did great at portraying a female lead and not making her cliché or stereotypical. It also has a bit of romance, but it didn’t overpower it. This book was really HER story and HER life. My friend and I did a book club with this book and loved it. It inspired us to write our own stories and to just use our imagination. Also we both are helplessly in love with Gilbert Blythe!
