this is a really good story with a lot of stuff that can lead to very important conversations but i just wish we got more of the bts of the publishing industry.
r.f. kuang is so good at crafting worlds & immersive environments, with this story it felt immersive but there could’ve been more things to heighten the atmosphere in my opinion

“They say a witch used to live in these woods… along long time ago.”
this book did something to my heart, it did something…
i’m starting to really get into norse mythology & i actually think it is my favorite mythology i’ve learned about so far.
so reading this was really fun, especially seeing this i already know about norse mythology, but i’m still a newbie to this mythology so i probably missed some stuff.
anyways this book was so good, a beautiful story 🧡

🌟To My Favorite Book Of All Time:🌟

i grew up on u, u were the first chapter book i read.
i first listened to u on cassette tapes & cds.
when i finally bought you as a hardcover u were beautiful & made me cry.

i never had sisters on this earth so getting to read about a group of sisters who loved & cared for each other made me feel less alone, like u were my sisters and i was urs.

i can’t tell you what u have done for me.
each different phase in my life u have meant something different.

i can’t believe that u have always been a safe place for me to go, and u have always been a comfort read for me.

each character i love, i feel like i am/relate to all of them.
amy is me(everything else), jo is my spirit, beth is my heart, meg is actions.

and they have shown me different things about love.
laurie & amy shows me love is out there, meg & john shows me love is hard, jo & friedrich - shows me love for a friend means so much more then i thought, marrmee & father shows me love takes strength & courage, & beth shows me that love can mean so many different things that i don’t have to be defined by stereotypes & standards, that i can make my own destiny & love.

my life has become defined by u in such a good way.

ur adaptations that i 💞 -
1994 & 2019 - movies (1933 is an honorable mention)
2017 - miniseries
2003 - broadway musical

u are such a loyal friend.
and even though people have missed used & hurt u, i will forever defend u.

ur adaptations that i 😾 -
2012 & 1949 - movies

i treasure & admire ur resilience as a story that has helped shape so many different generations.

u can never fail as a story bc u fill me with so much joy, i will never read a more beautiful story then u bc u are perfectly imperfect in my eyes.

i love u so much & i have way more to say but this is the most i can say rn.
but thank u again for being the book that gave me a new life when i was in elementary school, i love u to the moon & back.
