Finlay Donovan Digs Her Own Grave by Elle Cosimano

I have loved Finlay from her first hair covered duct tape fiasco in book one. I feel so connected to these characters and I am so invested in the relationships. The romance between Nick and Finn is the definition of slow burn. If you looked it up in a dictionary, you would see them yo-yoing up and down, will they/ won't they. It was so satisfying to watch it finally bloom in this book! Hallelujah! Vero and Javi too. Their banter has always been top notch but I love the softer side of them too. Sigh. I'm looking forward, as always, to Finn & Vero's next adventure.

This really had it all. Classic tropes but with a tongue in cheek execution. A jaded romance author forced to live through those tropes:
Snowed in
Caretaker
Enemies to lovers
Grumpy man with a heart of gold
And so much more. I will admit that I had a hard time getting into the book until she got to Alaska. I had a major book hangover after finishing a series and was on the struggle bus all around. But I ended up really loving this story. The letters from Margot's sister Vanessa really pushed it over the edge. I was crying right there alongside Margot. I also love a meddling parent. 😂😏

Stephanie Archer is a top author, and Gloves Off did not disappoint! I have loved this series from book one and it's so amazing to revisit this world and these characters, and to see how past book couples have grown. I am obsessed with Alexei and Georgia! It was incredibly frustrating to have them both be so biased in the beginning, but it made the growth of their relationship all the more beautiful.

This book is filled with a grumpy, possessive man obsessed with calling Georgia "my wife" and I am here for it all the way. I love that all of Stephanie's female characters are bad ass women with goals and lives that don't get pushed aside to make way for a man. Get it, Steph! I am beyond thrilled that Stephanie get picked up by a trade publisher and it makes me so happy to see her books on the shelf!
