Wahhhh!! This is one of my older Netgalley titles and I'm so glad I've finally gotten around to finishing it! And starting the series

This is another 3 ⭐ read and idk if it's just that I've devoted a whole book to the story but I do feel like I have to finish the series now? (Book 2 is also on my Netgalley backlog LOL). I don't especially have strong feelings for the story or characters but the story is like...finding yourself eating something regularly that you once said you'd never eat? 😂 Ok, maybe not so drastic but it's a series that grows on you

In this book we follow the story via Puck's POV. Puck is a jester, a prankster, and he's been around long enough to make a name for himself, not just in the fae world, but the human world too. But his reputation isn't all smiles and giggles. Once his real name Robin Goodfellow struck fear and anger in the hearts of creatures and after battling a mysterious monster bent on destroying the fae realms, Robin Goodfellow is back, horns and hairy hooves and all. Now he and his friends have to journey around the realm to stop this creature while also having no idea how to defeat it!

Puck is a character that's easy to like and I think that's what got me. But there's so much history between the characters (from previous books)! And not all of it is fun or to my liking (love triangles, ick). Still, the book ends with some unexpected? events so I'm curious what will happen next

For the "beginning" of a new series (new arc I think is more accurate), this was ok

This is an audiobook I bought maybe 2 years ago??? Tbh I can't remember how long ago, but I got it because MJ's name was on it

I wasn't expecting a lot from this because it's a fast read adult romance. The book is divided into 3 parts, follows 3 couples, and each chapter (I believe) is written by one of the authors listed. Also, all 3 couples that we follow are characters from the same setting/first story, which is why I thought the book restarted when the second story began 😂😂

Even though I had the most "fun" with the first story, I did prefer (for reasons listed below) the 2nd and 3rd stories better

"So will you tell me what this is" she says while pumping his 🍆
"Really is that how it's supposed to be done" when he explains sex
"His angelic organ" giiiiiirl

HOW ARE YOU IN YOUR TWENTIES / A GROWN WOMAN

The next two ladies were more knowledgeable 👁️ 👁️

I'd say this falls somewhere between 2.5-3/5 ⭐ because it delivered what I expected, which was a quick heteronormative Christmas story with horny mains who eventually give into their desires and end up together. Outside of the first MCs unbelievable "innocence", I did think all three ladies had character and the first even put her man in his place. Still, they do fit the mold of this genre so eh

This has been on my tbr for a while now and I'm glad it's been checked off. I didn't realize it was a retelling and I'm not 💯 sure if I got it right, but I'm thinking it's for Pinocchio? A wooden puppet is given life through magic and then gets punished whenever they lie? ✅ I think

I did enjoy a lot of the elements of this book. I'm a sucker for retellings after all and the idea of animated puppets is pretty cool! The thing is that the MC was so...daft. She just never connected any dots or questioned anything, which was frustrating as a reader. I mean, would it have changed anything? Idk, but at least it would have endeared me to her a bit more. The most interesting parts did end up happening toward the end, which is where I felt her character grew a bit, but then the last scene had to remind me she wasn't so bright 😂 😂

An ok read
