I received this book as an ARC from @angelmshaw_writes and @thesmuthood and I’m so happy that I did.
Let me start by saying that this book hooked me from the very beginning and did not disappoint. I was on pins and needles the entire time. This book ends on a cliffhanger and it’s one that should be illegal – WHAT ma’am!!!!
I love a good story retelling or one based on lore. I absolutely loved that this was centered around African Mythology. As an black woman, we don’t get many books that not only give information regarding our mythology but also is centered around it and I loved how it was written here through Shea's story and Storm.
The plot was everything. Watching them deal with everyday issues, both characters and their seemingly complex relationship with their parents and feeling like they need to center other people’s wants and the guilt that comes with wanting to center your own – SO relatable. I love how obsessed Storm was with Shae and how he would do anything to make it work. He’s for sure a book boyfriend fave. Shae was relatable and real, I found a lot of myself in her character.
All and all, this was a 10/10 for me. I literally want book 2 like NOW! Please, I’m begging you, when the ARC for book 2 comes out, I must get it! My heart will only heal when I know how this ends.

Holy Crap!!! I’m so glad I’m reading these now that all of the books are out.
I’m picking up the final book now… that cliffhanger was rude. I just know how it ends… on to book 5…

This book Wrecked Me – pun intended. This was my first book by Jenn Plummer, and I have to say, it will not be my last. Even though this book was the 4th in the Aspen Ridge series, I was able to pick it up and read it without an issue having not read the other tree – YET!!! They are now on my TBR.
This was an amazing MM romance with the perfect amount of angst, drama and SPICE! I mean, the spice was spicing, and I was SAT for it. It follows the 2 MMCs Carter Hayes, playboy extraordinaire, who really doesn’t do relationships – or feeling for that matter. He’s from a large family in a small town called Aspen Ridge. He loves his family and his life but still feels like something is missing.
Enter, Griffin “Finn” Nash, our other MMC who is a travel blogger that happened upon the small-town family distillery business that Carter’s family runs and tries to talk his father into featuring the family as a story. The two couldn’t be more different if they wanted. Finn is an only child, of an emotionally unavailable mother and a verbally abusive and controlling father, that he happens to work for. All he seemingly wants is to be loved and chosen.
They have instant chemistry, but Carter tries to fight it from the very beginning. He’s very suspicious of Finn because he thinks he wants to write a piece on him that will hurt his family and business.
The family dynamics are hard to handle with Finn, but the Hayes family makes up for what he’s lacked. I really loved how Jenn handled the bi-awakening with Carter. Nothing about it felt rushed, ashamed or unreal. It’s how I wish many should be written.
This book is out now, and I really would love you to pick it up. You will not be disappointed, “Wreck”ed maybe, but not disappointed.
Thank you, Jenn Plummer, and The Smuthood for the opportunity to read this ARC.
Tropes:
Small Town
Bi-Awaking
Forced Proximity
Forbidden Romance
Spice: 4/4

What an awesome series…
I really liked this series. I now have more insight into ZA and I can’t wait to dive back into those books. Here I come book 4 ☺️

Let me start by saying, the plot line was dark, engaging and captivating. I spent the entire time reading this book on the edge of my seat. I read Ace of Betrayal before this book so that I would understand what the Book 2 ARC that I received was about – and boy was I happy with Queen of Vengeance. It can be read as a standalone, but I’m glad that I read the first book and I’m waiting on Book 3… come on Jessica
I received this book as ALC from NetGalley and Hachette Audio. I really like this audiobook A LOT. The narrators, Je Nie Fleming and Jordan Cobb, were amazing. They really captured the Sullivan and Kia so well. The story was kind of an enemies to lovers, with a little grumpy sunshine mixed it - the perfect combination.
The story follow Sullivan (Sully) and Kia who met in culinary school years before but life put them on separate paths after graduation; however, not before sharing a kiss that sparked years long obsession's with each other that both of them were unaware of. This book has so much banter that had me laughing out loud quite a bit.
If you are in the mood for a feel good book with twists and turns that have you screaming at your (or my) headset, pick this book up. You will not be disappointed.

I wasn’t sure what I was getting into when I chose this book out of my TBR jar - this was a suggested book from a friend… but man, I’m I happy I read it! It was so NOT what I expected. Brody Montgomery is chef’s kiss, we all need one.
This book is about Nia Hart (Cavanaugh), a trauma nurse, who has to find herself and get a new prospective on life after her cheating husband has been found out. Brody happens to become her divorce lawyer, and SO much more…
This book is so well written and had me literally crying, screaming and laughing out loud. I can’t wait until Forsaken Son, book 2 in this interconnected standalone series. Aubrey Hawke, you have a new fan.

I seriously LOVE Sadie Kincaid!!!
Every book by Sadie I’ve read has been nothing short of amazing. The completion of this series was chef’s kiss! I think there are to be 2 more origin story novellas and I’ll devour those as well when they come out.
I’m just waiting with bated breath for my next Sadie fix.

I was lucky enough to get this ALC and I LOVED it. I read Blood of Hercules and of course was hooked to Jasmine's writing and writing style, but I hadn't really gone back into her pre-Blood of Hercules work and now I'm happy I did.
Much like BOH fashion, the banter and internal monologue of the characters is top tier. It's like I can put myself there in the book as I'm - in this case - listening. This book is about Sadie, a young girl who is quickly thrust into a fate that she never thought imaginable and is revealed to be an Alpha on her 20th birthday. She is trust into a Shifter training academy where she is trained and tormented by 3 Alpha males, Cobra (my favorite), Jax and Ascher. She goes through ALOT and I mean A LOT in this first book (I will not give out any spoilers, but I want to :))
I was fortunate enough to receive this in ALC from Harlequin Audio. The next audiobook isn't scheduled to come out until January 2026, but I can't wait that long, so I'm picking up book 2 today, because that cliffhanger ending will just not let me be great :)
If you love any of the following narrators: Narrator: Mollie Stark, Jaime Lincoln Smith, Teddy Hamilton, and Jeremy York.
...and the follow tropes:
⚔️ Why Choose (MMFM)
⚔️ Enemies to Lovers
⚔️ Found Family
⚔️ Traumatic Past
⚔️ Omegaverse (A/B/O)
⚔️ Shifters
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
