🎧 It started off as a fast paced and intriguing in the beginning but then the takes a slower pace. Adult Lissa is less intriguing, where she is a very sinister and creepy character she’s also dull and boring and really repetitive. Sometimes you find yourself liking unlikable characters, but not this time. The outcome was underwhelming and just didn’t really go anywhere. It was only ok.

🎧 I’m a fan of Kerry Wilkinson but this one fell short for me. The storyline just didn’t grip me and I found it a really boring listen. It felt like it was trying to build to an explosive twist but it just never came. It was just flat throughout the story with not much happening. The characters are endearing and I could definitely get to like them but this probably wasn’t the right listen to start with. Wasn’t for me unfortunately.

🎧 This one sounded right up my street but I found it a slow burn that really only got going for the last 1/4 of the listen. The storyline was a little out there for the setting. I didn’t really find it believable when it came to the main characters actions. I found the main character and the narrator irritating and both together didn’t really change my mind. This one just wasn’t my cup of tea.

🎧 The blurb had me interested but I found this one a little dull and repetitive. It’s told from the point of view of Kristy and ‘Him’. It felt like it just went through the motions. It lacked twists and turns and the outcome was underwhelming. The storyline was extremely drawn out and felt a little far fetched. I didn’t really care for any of the characters. This one just didn’t work for me.

This one gives off Survivor vibes of which I’m a fan along with reality tv in general. I was drawn in from the beginning. It’s told from the perspective of the journalist celebrity Lauren who is a contestant on the island. It moves at a steady pace that it was over before I knew it. It gets straight into the plot and you get to know each of the characters. They are both likeable and unlikeable in their own way. It’s a well thought out and well written storyline that I felt I was watching it all play out in front of me. If you’re a reality tv fan then this one is for you.

This is book 6 in the Detective Megan Carpenter series but it’s my first. I would recommend that you start at the beginning as there is a lot of reference to Megan’s backstory which is an interesting one. I didn’t feel like I was missing out as your given enough detail at the time. BUT I feel if I was to go back to the others I would know the outcome before knowing the story if that makes sense. But Final Victim was a fast paced engaging read that I couldn’t put down. It has a really well developed storyline, quirky characters and relationships that will keep you engaged and turning those pages. I could see myself getting very invested in the characters. I really enjoyed it and would recommend as it seems like a really good book series and I look forward to reading more in the series.

🎧 On finishing this it’s clear I’ve either read it already (but Goodreads says ‘No’ 😳) or another read that was very similar. This one is told in the form of past and present timelines which is always a love of mine. In this instance it felt like both timelines were extremely drawn out and the pace just dragged. For that reason I got a little bored as it felt like there wasn’t really much happening. It lacked the suspense factor to turn the pages but that could also be down to the fact I felt I already knew the story. It has both likeable and unlikeable characters. It’s a well thought out storyline with well developed characters but the pace really let it down for me.

I flew through this one. It’s a fast paced, easy read that keeps you engaged and turning those pages. For me it felt a little like reading back to front but it’s well done and it works. It’s a well developed storyline with well developed characters. I found the characters likeable enough. The outcome wasn’t what I expected and for me I needed more but maybe that was the intention. Having said that it’s a really enjoyable read and would definitely recommend.

🎧 This one sounded intriguing but I nearly DNF’d several times. It never really got going or built the suspense to continue to listen. I didn’t really care for the storyline or the characters. I was just bored and didn’t really find it interesting or engaging. Unfortunately this one was a slog and not really sure why I continued but I was glad to finish it. You can’t like them all I suppose.

Hook it to my veins 🤣. Crawled into this one for 24hrs and couldn’t put it down. Told from the point of views of Jill and Wendy an to start off until I got to grips with the characters I had to keep checking whose point of view it was. Great storyline that’s really cleverly written that you honestly don’t know where it’s going never mind see those twists coming. It has so much going on from friendships, relationships, secrets and lies. Not overly likeable characters but in this instance it really works and adds to the reading experience. Moves at a steady pace and gives you just enough to keep you engaged and turning those pages. Really enjoyed this one and couldn’t turn the pages quick enough.
