Honestly I loved this. I guess it's kind of hard-ish for me to find fiction books that are centered around women without being romance books (I say hard ish because this sub-genre is something I'm newly realizing I prefer), so I do think I always bump books like this up because I am just much more engaged in them.

Anyway I really liked the characters, the voice, the messaging and the stories. They felt like real people and I was very engaged immediately

Really love the voice of the author & I am a huge sucker for multiple POVs and entertaining stories. Really really liked this!!

I really enjoy her writing! While this book was also laden with very explicit "I'm a millennial these are my quirks and interests hehe" like her debut, Lease on Love, it worked better here imo and I really liked this story!

also, my cousin just had a surprise backyard wedding too so I teared up at that!

I overall really enjoyed this! I wasn't blown away or anything, but there were a lot of elements I really loved.

(Maybe spoiler-y but I also listened as opposed to read so sometimes I miss stuff)
I didn't realize/we didn't know? That Ava was talking to a detective and that she's an unreliable narrator until midway through and I LOVED that as a "twist" but again I may have just missed this since I wasn't reading lmao

I'm not sure anyone would read this without having read Firefly Lane, but I would say bc I already liked Firefly Lane it influenced how much I liked this. I love to follow a story bc I get attached to characters, so although this one wasn't super exciting I realllly enjoyed getting more stories/backstory on the other characters.

Fun little romp. I'm kinda off romcom/romance lately but this was mostly enjoyable. Some of the more romance heavy parts I found myself wanting to rush through which is not typically my vibe, I think I was finding it a little cheesy at parts or overdone? idk. I think overall the book was like more chill and then certain parts were randomly sooo romance heavy it almost seemed misplaced. I like her writing but the stories are always ?

Honestly enjoyed thoroughly. Had me theorizing constantly. But deducted .25 stars bc I don't care for an open ending!

Ending reveal really made me like the book a lot less. I already thought it was meh, but that made me kind of just not like it at all lol but it's a fun easy read!

Kristin Hannah is a good author! Tbh I'm glad I watched the show before reading the book because they changed a lottttt and I feel like I would've hated the show if I'd read first lol
