This book was a deliciously magical exploration of death and regency-era mystery. Some of plot twists were predictable, but not so much that it pulls you out of the story. (I also ended up getting EXACTLY what I wanted out of one of the main characters in the end, so thats a plus.) Very enjoyable read. 4.25 stars!
P.S. Belladonna is yet another piece of proof that having a character named Sylas in a fantasy novel guarantees a good time.

I'm mildly disappointed that this is the first book I finished this year, but i'd started it last year after watching the show and just wanted to get it out of the way.
I don't typically feel so strongly about teenage protagonists, but Belly makes it so easy to think of her with disdain—both in show and in audiobook. Her romanticization of Conrad, Susannah (shockingly), and the summer house is so sickening that I almost couldn't bear it. It's unfathomable to me how Belly could be so obsessed with someone so condescending and bread-crumby (but honestly Belly is kind of bread-crumbing herself); I cringed every time Conrad's name was mentioned and I prayed he would fall off the face of the earth like Steven just so I could maybe (MAYBE) stop hearing Belly's obsessive, insecure inner monologue.
Cam Cameron is so much better in the book—I kind of wish he was end game (and I'm a Jeremiah girl). Honestly, i was just comparing the book to the show the entire time, and in the book is a painful slog while the show is a bingeable mess.
I don't know why I even wrote this word-vomitty review. Just...ugh.

I smiled. I laughed. I frowned. I'm happy.
Dean and Allie are cutie patooties. I finished this book so quickly because of how happy they made me the entire time. I'm a little shocked with myself, tbh. Very good installment of a very good series!

Better than Twisted Love (but that's not saying much), but still has NOTHING on King of Pride. The middle was somehow better than both the beginning and end, which rarely happens... So yay? Simple 3-star read.

Well, I was finally able to finish an audiobook, LOL. There's no way I would have been able to stomach this snooze fest in any format that required my undivided attention. Listening to this book in all its "not-like-other-girls-nothing-is-happening-creepily-obsessed-MC" glory was...something. My opinion of Edward improved maybe .2% and I still struggle to stomach Bella's existence. It's just so bad. But, will I move on to New Moon? Who knows.

This is my first time reading something from Talia and I have to say I'm glad I listened to TikTok (for once)! Rahul is the current loml. He was perfect enough for me to give this a 4.25 rating just by existing. And while Jasmine was ticking me off near the end, I understand why she was making the choices she made and have forgiven her. Friends to lovers is so spectacular sometimes, wow.
