It was a little short for my taste, but other than that, I loved it. It was darker, and more sophisticated than what I first thought of Snow White. The magic effect was much more interesting, and I loved the characters. Not your avarage fairy tale.

It was short for my taste, but it was very beautifully writtin. You never realize how blessed you are with sight of colors and music and feelings. The Giver stresses all these and makes you very aware of the world around you.

I admitt, the ending was disappointing. I was so sure she was going to stay. But it was still an amazing story that I garuntee I'll read again...and again and again.

I read this in the 5th grade for a project. Usually I don't find books assigned for school as interesting as I would hope, but this really caught my attention. At a young age, Anne and her family had to face a time of great horror and danger simply because of what they believed in. Her words captured quite clearly the time and the conditions. I enjoyed it.
