I didn't like the contrived story, or the way Esme was acting. I couldn't believe she and Khai's mother would just drop her into Khai's home without any warning (she couldn't have stayed with the mother?), and it felt like everyone was trying to change Khai rather than respecting his needs. I also didn't like the author's focus on Esme's "porn-star body". I stopped reading when Esme decided to put on another woman's bridal gown. I didn't like Hoang's previous book very much either, but I wanted to give this author another chance.
