I can’t believe I wasted 17 hours of my life listening to this book. I thought it would be like a thriller. Ben searching for his brother and something weird going on at the store. Like is the town brainwashed? Were they covering up something? Is it all in Ben’s head? No. It was very boring and very very slow. I’m not sure I can even find a thing I actually liked about this book. The only reason I finished it was because I wanted to know what happened to his little brother and was hoping it’d be some huge twist at the end. And while I didn’t expect that particular person to be behind it, it still didn’t blow my mind. I also don’t think I’d recommend this to anyone.

This book wasn’t really my cup of tea but I know others rate this pretty high. The writing was great and the plot was fairly interesting, it just didn’t fully interest me and took me a week or so to finish cause it was hard to get into. I will definitely be watching the show after this though. To me it felt like the whole Jason & Amanda bit was boring and took up most of the story really. To me it was interesting when there was the drive to get back to his time and everything. He seemed to realize who the person was who was responsible for this a little too late. And in the end
it was just a massacre of his other versions killing to be with his wife. I will admit this was kind of heartwarming to me because he loved this woman so much that no matter what reality he was in, he wanted her. And in the end they all were willing to kill the other versions just to be with her and to me that was very sweet.
In the end this wasn’t my cup of tea but I’d recommend it to others for sure!

This was my first blind read and what a wild read it was. I don’t have too much to say other than it was written really well and it was nice to read something with black characters. I’d still like to know what the hell Grace was 😭 it kind of leaves you hanging in the end there. But at least it was a happy ending.

This was pretty good. Easy to get into and kept my interest the entire time. I did not see the ending coming at ALL. And I’m hyped for the movie to come out in June. I’d recommend this book to anyone looking for a good (tamed) horror/thriller. Another thing I loved was the way the author wrote / described things. Absolutely amazing.

Wow… just wow. This is my first 5 star read of 2024. I listened to the audiobook and even though the length seemed intimidating, it was worth it. The author draws you in at the beginning and KEEPS you interested. This NEEDS to be a movie!!! I can’t express how good this book was. It had be crying at the end. Who knew through all of this death and grief there’d be a romance?!
It’s so sad that the entire crew died. But if anyone were to survive I’m glad it’s Cain and the MC. They deserve each other. I was a tad bit disappointed that the cause of the Aurora massacre was human made and not a genuine ghost story. But it was still so good that I’m willing to forgive that! I honestly didn’t expect her to survive and for this to end in a happy ending.
Applause to the author because this was really good and I loved it. It reminds me so much of ghost ship (the movie)

Really only giving it a 2.5 because the production of the audio book itself is really impressive. Instead of just being read a story I was immersed like I was watching a movie. The sound effects, multiple voice actors, music, and acting out the dialogue was amazing. I did not care for the story itself. It bored me extremely. I figured it was just a slow start and would build into something creepy or horror related but no. The entire book was boring and the ending was dumb. I wouldn’t even label this as horror. Thriller is pushing it. Nothing freaking happened!! I’m glad I experienced this as an audiobook because it would have gotten dnf’d if it weren’t for the production in the audiobook.

Not going to lie to you, this bored me. And quite frankly disgusted me. I didn’t even get satisfaction at the end when the girls turned on their abusers because of how gross said abusing was. Nothing really grosses me out cause I read splatterpunk novellas just fine. But reading acts of children performing sexual acts on adults made me nauseous. It also really weirds me out that a grown man is writing about this in detail. When I first read this I thought it would be some sort of massacre of pedos. But the vampire element threw me off and to me didn’t fit well with the story even though that appeared to be the plot. If it didn’t take so long for the cruise to get to the island then maybe it would have been an interesting read.

This was a pretty good read. It’s giving Saw meets 13 ghosts. I’d love to see something like this as a movie. Even before reading it I knew I’d rather watch this as a movie. I love a book that peaks my interest and keeps me interested. He was very detailed in the lore behind the rituals and that was hard for my brain to follow. But it just shows how much went into writing this and I appreciate that.
