Very weird, very interesting, and very different. Japanese dialogue is much more straightforward than the typical American/British conversation. This book was very inspiring and reminded me what to prioritize in life: simplicity, inner strength, and culture.

I probably don't have the proper appreciation for this story. Bizarre.

This was a crazy book about crazy people. The beat generation, especially Dean/Neal, seemed like a bunch of poor hedonists that mostly didn't give a shit about anybody but each other, but you can't say they didn't live in the moment.

A good reminder that stability and comfort are optional aspects of life rather than necessary ones.

An amusing and philosophical fusion of scientific ideas and creative writing. A bit dull at times.

Very interesting book written with an underlying sense of humor. Had me chuckling at a few parts. I only wish I hadn't had to read the majority of this book on lunch break.

A compelling and interesting look into military culture with a sci-fi flavor. I wish it was longer, I wasn't quite ready for it to end.
