i honestly thought i would finish this book hating it, but it was so cheesy in such a good way. I couldn’t put this book down since this morning and i’m glad i didn’t. the only part that bugged me was the fact that it seems like the author avoided the word lesbian at all costs but it was still such a wonderful and fun read!

i was looking through my apple library after finishing my last book and realized i never finished it last year! it was so easy to jump back into the story, it’s as if i just hit pause on a movie to use the bathroom (though i may have only remember what was happening so vividly because of the movie series). one thing i’ve love about jenny han is that she’s able to capture the teenage girl experience very well and her writing of lara jean feels so real to the point that i debate if i would be friends with her in real life. cant (but i can because i don’t want this series to end) wait to read the last one!

the fact i read this at the ripe age of 10 was somewhat traumatizing however this book has still stuck with me and it’s one of the best i’ve read!

i wanted to read the beginnings of sally rooney’s journey of these characters and honestly it’s a wonderful starting point. seeing how she developed connell and marianne into the characters we know today is so cool; seeing what she kept with our two characters and what she didn’t. i saw people say that this would make a wonderful epilogue to the book and it would… if you hate optimism and happy endings????

i don’t know, the way the book ended i just cant ever see marianne and connell reverting to these ways again, all i’ll say is there’s a reason why the book doesn’t have/need an epilogue and why this the beginning of sally’s journey of what would later become normal people.
