This book was very reminiscent of the Hobbit for me in that there is a very unlikely hero who faces impossible odds to find himself. It's about a very regular middle aged stuttering librarian who decides he needs to be a little more adventuresome to win the heart of his love Molly. Unfortunately his adventure starts off on pretty bad footing as he is captured by Goblins! Great story and well written. I love the characters and the impressive character development. The inner dialogue of Edmund is often times vastly amusing and very realistic. I definitely recommend this book to fantasy lovers. I loved it.

This book was an interesting twist to a Scottish romance. I enjoyed the little bit of the supernatural Wittig added to the book. This book could have been a four or five star read but it was missing something for me. The characters didn't hook me and I had no trouble putting it down at night. overall two star characters and character development but a four star story idea.

The second book was even better than the first! I wish the third was out so I could start it now! I really enjoyed the new characters that were introduced and I hope I see a lot more of them in the third book. Betrayal in the Highlands was a bit less dark than the first but just as action packed. I had a hard time going to sleep at night because I wanted to keep reading and find out what was going to happen to Edmund next.

I reserve one star reviews generally for books I couldn't bring myself to finish reading and unfortunately this was one of them. I was very disappointed as I adore Merlin and king Arthur stories. This book was boring, the plot seemed to be going nowhere and Merlin was such an unrealistic character with such stiff, wooden dialogue that I just couldn't continue to read it. Maybe if I had been younger when I read this book I would have enjoyed it but I didn't enjoy it as an adult.

I love Tucker and Kane and I love Rollins but to be totally honest I was starting to get bored with the Sigma Force novels so I am so excited that he is introducing some new characters! I really loved their appearance in the last book and I can't wait for the full length Tucker and Kane novel this Spring!

OK. I am not even sure how to describe this book. Boring, Hot Mess comes to mind. It started off not bad, I was intrigued. It got steadily worse with every page after the first chapter. The characters were underdeveloped, the story was unbelievable, the sex scenes were not very sexy (who in their right mind calls a clitoris an oyster). This could have been so hot, who doesn't love a sexy frenchman, but it fell so so so short for me. You get what you pay for which was nothing because this was a free amazon read. Will not be reading the second book.

I decided to read this series even though its a YA series because I love nick in the Dark Hunter novels. I am so glad I read this book! Nick always reminded me a little bit of a super powered Xander from BTVS. Anyway of course Sherrilyn Kenyon does not disappoint. The book is fast paced, witty, and written really well. Bought the second one as soon as I was finished the first!

Not a bad start to a new series. The characters were interesting and fairly well developed. I wished the love interest part of the novel had ben developed a little more. It felt very rushed. I will probably read the next book and hope the love stories get a bit better as the series progresses.

This book lives up to what I expect from Kenyon. Fast paced, funny, action packed. The only thing I could do without maybe is the love interest between Kody and Nick. I think its the fact that Nick is only 15 and Kody's age has yet to be determined but I get the feeling she is like Acheron old (just a tad creepy).
