This story was creepy and kept me reading until the very end. The only thing that I didn't like very much was the end. I thought it was a little obvious and cliched. Plus it left me wondering a little bit about what exactly the bird eater needed with and was doing to Aaron. It just didn't feel like the story completely wrapped up and was explained but maybe she's planning on a second novel or already has one out.
This book was really good from beginning to end. Literally kept me up until 3 AM so I could finish it. Very well thought out and I thought it was quite original. I liked that the female lead was strong and capable and from another dimension! It went pretty easy on the cheesy , gooey romance stuff which I liked. Anyway I definitely recommend this book to fantasy/sci-fi romance lovers.
ok, I really enjoyed the first two books in this series. I loved Dante and her character was well written and so was japh's. unfortunately this book for me was a major backslide. The plot had potential but never actually went anywhere nor did it conclude at the end of the book. It almost read like a prequel novella that was stretched into a full length novel. I really didn't like that. Furthermore, Dante was seriously annoying in this book. She went from kick a## to a serious cry baby in about sixty seconds. She was constantly second guessing and cowing down to Japh, who also unfortunately had a character change to serious jerk. I sincerely hope the next book gets back on track.
So I liked that this book went back to having an awesome dante but at the same time I keep wishing we would get more information on what she is and what Japh is. Everytime I finish one of these books I feel like a didn't read a novel just a teaser for the next book.
Ok, this book had tons of action and it kept me up reading late to finish it. We did learn a little more about what Dante is but at the same time I still wished she wasn't in the dark all the time. We learnt little to nothing about Japh which I find is unfortunate. I hate when characters aren't finished*. Furthermore the end left me going what! That's it! Is there another damn book! Very disappointing end because things still felt unresolved and we didn't know much more than we did in the first book but it was one of the better books in the series.
I really enjoyed this book. The characters were awesome and I enjoyed the history as well as the story. Finished it in one sitting and couldn't put it down. I haven't read any of the other books in the series and I wasn't lost at all so it can be read as a stand alone.
