This is such an excellent book for actors, especially in the tv/film space. It has just the right mix of encouragement and tough love with a dose of comedy to keep it entertaining.
I enjoyed this, and I really like the narrator. I wasn't expecting all the religious trauma, but the book does a nice job capturing the earth-shattering feeling of acting on your "unholy urges."
FAKE DATES AND MOONCAKES combines the fake dating trope and a wealth class disparity romance to build a nicely layered plot. I loved the mooncake competition and how Dylan's family and Theo, along with some of his family, come together to help. I also enjoyed the bits of Chinese and Singapore culture, history, and mythology that are woven into the story.
Such a lovely rom-com that genuinely delivers on the "com" aspect. The pining is so accurate and beautifully described, as are the senior year experiences and college stress. Without spoilers, the ending is just perfect. Love!
This queer teenaged Indiana Jones type of story is so much fun! Lots of tension, suspense, comedy, heart, and Rosen's signature queer subversiveness. It's a nice, brisk read, and I love the exploration of what's the right way to handle historical artifacts and the way queer history so often gets hetero-washed.
really simple and useful way to nail down the bones of a story
This is very fun and silly, but I did not appreciate the Titanic slander!
This book is gorgeous, and I love Ander and Santi so much! Jonny Garza Villa clearly put their whole heart into this story...it's tender and funny and enraging and heartbreaking and hopeful, basically the breadth of human emotion. Read it and abolish ICE!
