Henri Vasel is an angel baby and I loved him so much, but I think my expectations for this book were a bit too high.

I still thoroughly enjoyed his book though and will forever read anything JJ writes, but everything about Atlas and Henriโ€™s characters felt surface level and wished there had been a deeper dive into their backgrounds and lives.

& hooked even further when chapter two had me crying.

Lochland and Dario are just too adorable for words, and I loved their sweet friendship (and eventual relationship).

A Bone in His Teeth is a hauntingly beautiful story full of violence and cruelty, set in a brutal and merciless world where humans lack empathy and oppress others for their own gains.

We meet Alba, an injured and indentured sailor, who is on the run after having spent his life working towards paying off his family's ever accruing debts. With plans to meet up with his mother in her small and secretive hometown of Moon Harbor if anything ever should happen, Alba doesn't realize he's about to step out of the frying pan and into the fire.

It is there, while moonlighting as the town's newest lighthouse keeper, that Alba stumbles upon Eridanys, the last merrow of Moon Harbor, who is wanting to uncover what happened to the merrow that once filled its waters. The pair strike a deal of sorts, with their relationship deepening as they uncover the horrors of Moon Harbor.

With the odds stacked against them, Alba and Eri eventually free themselves from their pasts and the cruel grip of Moon Harbor, but not without one hell of a struggle. Their story is painful and oh so dark, but I loved every minute of it.

What to expect:
- trans mm romance
- dark fantasy with seaside horrors
- small town full of secrets
- touch him and die, literally
- mating ritual
- two dicks

Jesse and Sebastian have hated each other since they were children, but as we all know, there's a fine line between love and hate. All it takes is for these two to be thrown together again against their will, pound it out (in every sense of the word), and realize that maybe they've had feelings for each other all along.

I'll be honest, I may be a bit biased with how much I adored Jesse and Bas together because if Willow writes it I'm going to love it, but these two were just precious, ok?! The animosity, the tension, the banter... AND THE SPICE ๐Ÿฅต

What to expect:
- mechanic +  retired musician
- childhood rivals to lovers
- fucking and fighting
- monster ๐Ÿ† with fancy accessories
- all the banter + spice
- forced proximity
- only one bed
- hurt x comfort
- found family
- touch starved MC

Honestly, I spent most of this book wondering if I liked it. The first half is a slow build, but once I was hooked it flew by.

Overall though it was odd and just spooky enough to make me like it.
