While a love a strong BA female that goes after what she wants, Scarlett is a little too headstong. To the point that she makes extremely rash decisions, then used the excuse that she didn't have time to run her decisions by her mate and closest advisors. I found that very annoying, but so did all of the characters.
Much of this book is Scarlett facing the concequences for her rash decisions, and trying to figure out what her enemies are after. Then trying to get to those things before her enemy does.
I am still very much enjoying this series, and will continue on with the next two books. This series is definitely for Throne of Glass and ACOTAR fans!

I loved the second installment in this series! While Scarlett is working to overcome her past trauma, and Sorin is trying to give her space to do so. Time is running out. The tensions are high between Sorin and Scarlett and it makes for a fast read, but there are moments when the repetitiveness of the conversations is tiring. Hence the 4 instead of 5 stars.
There is more magic training and magical battles in this book. Plus, the big bad villain behind all of the machinations has not been revealed yet! I'm very excited to continue on this journey with Sorin and Scarlett.
This book is very much inspired by Throne of Glass and A Court of Thorns and Roses. While I love and adore the inspirational elements, it is almost too on the nose with this one. I'm still gonna eat it up!

This book is amazing from it's world building to is snarky banter. I cannot get enough of Saeris Fane's story from being a thief to stay alive to fighting in battles she had no knowledge of up until a few weeks ago.
This story is action packed and full of all of my favorite tropes. There is no shortage of political machinations, and Saeris had no possibility of fighting against her oppressive ruler when she was fighting for her life day by day. But after traveling to a portal into a different realm, she might be capable of much more than she ever dreamed.
I will be counting the days until the next installment in this new original epic fae fantasy.

DNFed at 33%. While I found the setting to be adorable and cozy fantasy. The characters were lacking for me. The main character is a rich entitled party boy who doesn't even know how to make tea at the age of 23? The other main character has put her parents into a permanent sleep because they didn't care for her or their property how they should. I just didn't have empathy for either of these characters. So, I DNFed.

This series is an absolute masterpiece. That's really all I have to say. The pacing, the plot twists, the character depth and arc, the side characters all have depth and arc, the banter between the MCs. I will be coming back to this series again and again. I can't wait to see what else Raven Kennedy writes! It's so exciting!
This is the final piece of the puzzle for Auren and Slade's relationship and for their role to the people of Ourea and the Fae world. The threats that come for Auren are many, but she has mastered her mind and her powers, and it's a beautiful thing to behold.
I cannot say enough about Auren's journey. She goes from being very gaslit/brainwashed to one of the most powerful female characters that I've read. Slade is no slouch either. His trauma from his father at an early age in a lot of ways has made him in to the soft and caring man he is, but then he can also be completely brutal and possessive when he needs to be.

I adore this series! I feel as those the characters could hop right off the page and into real life, they're that well rounded and that thought out. Raven Kennedy's ability to world build and plan ahead is unmatched by 95 percent of the authors out there. Authors everywhere should take notes from her on how to plan out a series in advance. I'm sure not all of the plot points were known in advance, but it sure feel that way while reading them.
I won't say much about the actual story in this review, because I don't want to spoil. HOWEVER, the political intrigue and longing from afar in this book is STRONG. Auren and Slade are bigger and badder than ever, and I CANNOT wait to see where the story takes them in the final book.
