Wow! I was expecting to love this book so much. I didn’t like the original Shadow And Bone Trilogy, but this book was fantastic. I couldn’t stop reading. It also kinda gave me AEITA vibes because of the whole prison break thing! How awesome.
This was like a 4.75. These books just aren’t quite 5 stars for me for some reason. The plot is really good, I think I just don’t really feel entirely connected to the characters.

This was so good!!! I want more!!! How is this standalone? I want an entire series from Zu.
Also, if people haven’t read Through The Dark they wouldn’t know who Lucas is. I don’t think he is ever mentioned in the main trilogy.
