This was… not good. It felt like if gone girl, tinder swindler, and verity had a threeway but they were siblings and the baby came out deformed.

The beginning is sloooowwwwwwww. Of the first 100 pages about 70 of them were descriptions of Greece. (I think we were in Greece. I’m gonna be honest I’m not sure bc I was skimming so heavily) I almost packed it in but there was just enough of the mystery dangling for me to stick around.

Around 50% things start picking up and I finally felt like I could stop skimming so heavily bc I didn’t want to miss little details.

The excitement was sadly short lived. The synopsis is so misleading. Gia is only missing for maybe 4 pages? The memoir is introduced entirely too soon. If the book was structured differently I think it would have played out way better.

The ending is also just a complete dud. And I’m someone who LOVES an open end. This is not that. This is like the author didn’t know how to tie it all together and was like welp that’s all folks *looney tunes soundtrack plays* and called it a day.

Whomp whomp waaaahhhhhhh

This is everything I have been dreaming of for an influencer book 🙌🏼👏🏼

I was constantly theorizing where is Evie and what the hell happened a year ago?! I did have it figured out pretty early on but it was one hell of a ride. And that last page?! BAZINGA!

The commentary on social media throughout was unsettling. This would make a stellar book club pick. I think it will spark a lot of discussion on how we are all chronically online and what does consent look like for kids when it comes to their parents posting them.

Overall: grab if you want a slow burn thriller with depth

Least favorite character: Hazel. Complete idiot. I hated her the entire time. ☺️

Did not finish book. Stopped at 40%.
Did not care one bit about these characters or the clouds in the sky killing people. It put me to sleep every single time I picked it up

yall I was sooooo ready for Kyle to be put into his place by a fierce FMC and this did not disappoint. What I was not ready for was how quickly I was going to love this man. Move over Clay Johnson! Kyle Robbins is here 🧎🏼‍♀️

Typically I don’t care for second chance bc the reasoning for the first breakup is dumb or icky but this one didn’t feel forced or off putting. The topics were handled with care and done well. Their past made the whirlwind relationship believable and not over the top.

Madelyn was the perfect FMC for Kyle. After seeing him throughout the series she balanced him out and allowed for his character to shine and have some much needed growth.

Now for what I didn’t care for and I think this is a personal preference me problem but holy hell you could tell Kandi was pregnant when writing this. The last 20%ish read like a mommy monologue I couldn’t wait for it to end. Being single mom trope you expect some of it but the end was a relentless slaughtering of baby talk and repetitive af.
