I will be specifically talking about the story Wormspace, by LC Von Hessen in this review though.

If you have ever been in the extreme body mod community, or extreme BDSM community, you will know that there are people like this, and people who will do this for the right price.

I just want to say, that the way the lip coloring was described was FUCKING AMAZING. As someone who has Endometriosis, and has dealt with horrible blood clots and one miscarriage, the visual this game me. I had to take a moment and gather myself. I applaud you LC Von Hessen. FUCKING PERFECT,
I have been in the BDSM and body mod community since I was like 18, that's over 20 years of seeing and hearing about some of the more subtle “extremes” and then HEARING/SEEING the actual extremes. This story, while fiction, touches on things I have heard about. Things that with the right amount of money…
Anyway, it is visceral, it made me stop once or twice, and remind myself this is fiction. While I know of real world things, THIS what I am reading is fiction. And that kind of writing, that makes me think about real world things, or makes me think about other media I have consumed that has touched on this sort of topic.. That is my kinda story. It pulls me in, and makes me want to stay in that head space and intake more bit of entertainment like this.
This is the first time reading anything by these authors, I would highly suggest giving this a read/

I love Beckett so much. He is grumpy, moody, and hates everybody. Kinda reminds me of Grumpy Bear, and you just wanna snuggle him, then give him a cold beer.
Madilyn was such a strong character, and you could really feel how it felt to work in a male dominated field as a woman, even with it being a short story.
They way that Beckett and Madilyn spark with each other, and butheads, you just know they are meant for each other. The spicy was lovely. The way that Beckett wanted to protect Madilyn, yet wanted to keep her at a distance, made my little heart pitter patter.
Definitely give this a read!

I totally related to Birdie in SOOOOOO many ways. I loved her, almost shyness, but that word doesn’t quite fit what I am trying to say. I totally understood how she felt when she first meets Roman, and i wish when that interaction woulda happened to me, a sexy sunshine guy was there to help save me.
Roman is so adorable, with how he just jumps right in with the fake dating, and being possessive of Birdie. Even though he fully doesn’t understand what is going on. I am down bad for a guy who will step in when bad exs try to pull things. I just loved him. He seemed so sunshiney in a way. I really hope that we get more about these two,
I love seeing stories about women in male dominated fields, and this story has a bit of that. We also get some lovely. And a MMC that just will not let FMC go. He wants to see how they burn together, and I am 100% here for it.
I highly recommend this story. And that you check out A.D. McCammon's other works. Everything I have read by them is 5 stars.

Queens and Monsters, is the third book in the Three Fates Mafia series by Clio Evans. And let me tell you, the spice was AMAZING. The kink, the consent, the submission, the checking in, and trying to protect each other, all the while kinda fumbling at it.
I loved Madeline, and Percy from the moment we met them in the other books. I was so excited when Clio posted about them getting their own book. And hopefully a HEA.
I loved the way that they secretly pined for each other. Loved each other. And kinda dating each other since the moment they met. This fated mates, touch her and die story is amazing and y’all definitely gotta give it a read.
I would suggest reading the books in order, but if that is not your jam, you can still understand what is going without.
Clio is one of my top ten authors, and once again they hit it out of the park with this one,.

I had to read this one more than once to absorb it all. The first chapter alone had me reading it out loud, at times with my open agape. I am unsure if I have heard so many ways to describe spunk, cum, and ejaculation.
Like this wonderful diddy, “This spot lay outside the reach of the ever flowing fountain of acidic pre-cum streaming down the sides of the enormous crimson glans.” Acidic pre-cum you say? When I tell you, I would read a whole book about this world. I am not joking. I want to know more about the wolf/dog/shadows. I want to know more about this enormous, bulbus, acid spitting crimson dick. I want to know why they are there, how they get the things they feed on, how there is a burnt forest surrounding this thunder dome of cum.
And again, this is just the first chapter. We see this world from the viewpoint of someone later called Marilyn. Give me more. How is she smarter than the others there? If she was to be split, would those other ones also gain her knowledge? Are we on the verge of an attack on wolf/dog/shadow/shifters who come from a cumder dome world?
If so, sign me up for reading that book. I am all in.

Now, I am not going to get into much that happens after this, because I think other than the TW/CN kinda of things, going into this one unaware might just help some.
The characters felt real, fleshed out, the overall issues outside of the whole flood/demon thing, were very real for that time in America, especially, rural America. Homophobia, domestic abuse, child abuse, poverty, were rampant, and in a lot of ways still are. In some ways, the abuse shown in this book is nothing compared to some of the things I have read in Dark Romance books. So, for me, even as a CSA and DAS, this in no way triggered me. But, if these things are an issue for you, PLEASE if you read this, check in with yourself from time to time to make sure you are handling it ok.
I am so glad that at the end of it all, two people got to be back with each other. Even if it's only for a short time.

This is the third book in the Fated Mates of the Zaarn series, and I just love Mollie (FMC) and Sul (MMC). I think you could understand what is going on for the most part without reading the first two, but really why would you?!
These books almost hit 300 pages each, but they don’t feel long. There is so much going on, that it is so easy to lose oneself in the story and find yourself reading multiple chapters even after you tried to call it a night. This is a plot and character driven book, which I know isn’t forever, but I would say go for it, you will not regret it. I would say mediumish on the pacing when it comes to the spicy time. So, do not expect to open the book and be hit with sexy times.

I loved how passionate Mollie was about wanting to be a pilot, and not just a pilot but a badass one. I loved how Sul fell for Mollie the moment he met her, but was kinda scared to do or say anything. Almost a little shy, very much falls into the himbo category, which I am finding I love.
Just like in the other two books, there is the overall plot of finding all the women who were on the stolen ship, and kidnapped and some sold off into slavery. So again, there is a lot going, but I never felt overwhelmed, or lost in the information.
When Sul and Mollie do finally have their intimate times together, not only are they passionate but they are cute as well.
Himbos? Check.
Awesome FMC? Check.

A story that will suck you in? Check

First off, thank you to the author for having a good range of TW on their website for this book. As well as speaking on how this is NOT “model for how to conduct a safe, sane, and consensual BDSM relationship”. BDSM, is almost NEVER like what you see on tv, read about in books, etc.
This is the first book I have read by Poppy, and based on this, I will be reading many more.
Now, for the book… HOLY FUCKING SHIT BALLS BATMAN. I loved, and hated characters from the moment they hit the pages. They felt so fleshed out, and real.
The spicy scenes, even when CNC/Dub/Non was in play were good and spicy. Iykyk.
The cliffhanger is making me wish I had book two in my hands already. Yes, there is a cliffhanger, but I think it is worth it to read this one and sit biting your nails till book two comes out.
If you enjoy dark spicy romances, with mafia, pet play, humiliation/praise, and touch her and die vibes from her guys.. This is 100% for you.
