I almost didn't want to finish this book because I knew how it was going to end. However, it did provide background and motivation that was nice to get for the rest of the series.

There was nothing earth shattering for me in this book. However, it was soo refreshing and I recommend it to anyone who is in search of truth and beauty! I'm obviously neither a musician nor an author, so a lot of the specifics didn't apply to me, but the principles were encouraging to me as a creator and small business owner.

Gritty thriller style, only two major twists. I would have enjoyed more mystery and less suspense.

This one felt like it drug a lot and Cynthia was giving me whiplash with her hot and cold towards her relationship.

Too many characters and not enough intrigue. I could put the book down and not wonder what was going to happen next. May try again at a later date but not in the mood now.

This has been my least favorite so far. I didn't connect with the worlds or characters as much. Rowan especially was a struggle for me to appreciate despite Aelin's obvious attraction to him. He felt flat trope-ish and flat.

One of my top three reads of the year. Very "Death On the Nile" vibes with a little romance and sprinkling of magic.

There was so much convoluted history I just could not get into this book. Maybe if I had read book 1 first.

This book really picked up and sucked me fully into the story about halfway through. Some big reveals, some of which I predicted, some of which I did not.
