This was a pretty good book. Each chapter pulled you into the next and it wasn’t a long book. Nothing was drawn out. I might judge a book by how many pages there are. Some books would be so much better if they would just end. I loved the atmosphere! I’m not sure if that makes sense but the writing, the characters, the location, the dialogue all provided the perfect story. It’s not really one I understood. I have re-read the ending several times and I feel like I’m missing something. I will say I had no clue who was going to be at fault for the twins disappearance. I blamed it on everyone before we got to the end. One thing I found interesting was that the author was told he had cancer but it was a false positive. It was due to the fact that he had so many tattoos that the ink pigmented in his lymph nodes and it gave a false positive. I googled it. It’s true.

My only question during the book was what about the cat?!? 🐱 I just wanted they darn cat to be safe. But seriously this was a solid read. It was fast paced and while there wasn’t anything different about this storyline it was still a good book. I enjoy Michele Campbell books and she writes very easy to read stories. There was one twist that I didn’t see coming but everything about it is very predictable. There are enough secrets to keep you reading until the very end.

This book will definitely be in my top 5 books for this year. I only read it because it was literally everywhere and I didn’t want to be left out. (I don’t watch much TV and didn’t even know it was a show.) Everything about this book felt like real life…the conversation….the emotions….and you loved these people. You rooted for them. I read an interview with the author and her most fun character to write was Warren Rhodes. He was mine also! He was so funny and I really enjoyed his sense of humor. I got a kick out of his interview when he thought Karen and Bones were together instead of Graham. Her favorite character was Camilla Dunne. She was unbelievable woman. The more you read the more you wanted to read and the more you didn’t want it to end. This author is a mixed bag for me. I loved The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo but had to DNF Malibu Rising. But definitely don’t wait on this one. It’s a must read.

Meh. A very weird book. The first couple of chapters I was starting to get into it and then it just took a weird turn. Every body was sleeping with someone else. There was weird obsessions. There was no character development at all. I just didn’t enjoy it. I don’t recommend it.

I received this as an ARC and it came with little packages to open after certain chapters. That was so much fun! I loved opening those! I’m just going to get the one negative thing out of the way first because I truly loved this book. I did find it it confusing at times and I wasn’t sure what was going on from time to time. There was a lot going on in this book and several people to keep up with but man what a story. The best part that helped me so much was Detective Laurence had notes and wrote out a timeline and that helped me keep on track. There were some really creepy parts! When Katie was reading about Jack Lock and was looking at her reflection and it moved….gave me chills. Like I said there was a lot of different stories going on here but they were brought together beautifully. This book is a definite must read. I haven’t read anything else by Alex North but after this book he will definitely be put on my TBR list.

Oh me. It just wasn’t good. It’s a short read and honestly you can read the first and last chapter and miss a whole lot of nothing yet know what’s going on. This book was full of repetition. We had the same conversation from different perspectives page after page after page. It was just a soap opera with terrible dialogue. It was all predictable from the get go with no twists or aha moments. I have liked some of Kaira Rouda’s books. Best Day Ever was really good but this needed a lot of work.

I have never read anything by this author and seen very mixed reviews in this book. I loved it! I loved how the book was written and how the story was developed. The story felt very real. There was some underlying humor which really added to the story. The character development was very relatable and you found yourself feeling for each one of them. I felt so bad for Miranda. Its told from different POV’s but when Jane tells her story you will find yourself feeling every emotion she felt during her marriage. It’s very powerful and all-telling. It’s a quick easy read. I did feel like the ending was a little drawn out but like I said its not a big book anyway. I will definitely be picking up other books written by this author. I plan on reading Defending Jacob next.

This did not seem like a Ruth Ware book at all to me. It was definitely not my favorite book by her but it was a very good book. Just a classic husband dies, wife is framed, wife runs to discover who the killer is. No surprises at all but it was well written and just a good solid read. No twists or surprises really. The end is all wrapped up with a pretty bow. But again it was just a standard story and you really didn’t expect any more than what you got. It sounds bad but it’s not. It is a very easy read.

This was one of my most anticipated reads of 2023. It did not live up to what I thought it was going to be. I didn’t like any of the characters at all. I couldn’t even like Olivia. The story just didn’t seem real. I felt like it could have been much more realistic but came off far fetched to me. 28 kids just seemed excessive when all we cared about was two of them. With each crime the murderer committed Darby (his mother) acted shocked but he did all these things when he was younger….he stole, he attacked a young woman, he was violent. So can you really be shocked and hold out hope when the crimes and photo of your son matches to the tee? I wanted to slap these people. And it was way too long. I didn’t think it would end. And of course when it did it was everything you would predict. And I’m going to honest and not to ruin it for you but when they mention that Perry was Park’s twin…..I just knew that was going to play into this. But nope. So don’t think it.
