I enjoyed it but I had it figured out at like 25% in on who was the bad guy....now there was a fatality that I didnt see coming and I have to know what happens so on to book 3!

2nd read by this author and I really like her writing style. This one was paced well with a continuous build up. I enjoyed the cat & mouse esq trope and the little twist at the end.
Boring for sure. Also the 2 main characters were so juvenile to me. Thr writing was well done however the internal dialog of the FMC was written in a way that I found insufferable...like E.Henry was trying to show off how elite she is or something. Idk....I just couldnt force myself to read 400+ pages of this!

I really enjoy J.Hartmann's books. She writes about very taboo topics, and this was no different. I found the entire story very layered and shades of gray. I had sadness, joy, disgust, anger, and contentment all throughout this novel. Thought provoking and not likely I will forget it and how I felt while experiencing.

Not my most favorite J.Hillier book but a solid cop/thriller/suspense book. Definitely going to read the next book in the series!

It's a really wonderful 1st book in a fantasy series! The world building alone was very well done. The chemistry and banter between Odessa and the MMC is so delicious. I would have preferred a little more spiciness instead of a glazed over scenes, and the beginning was very slow for me. Im looking forward to book 2 and have so many theories about what is happening!
I think I'm done reading Frieda books. This came highly recommended with a promised shocking twist, except it was awful, and I knew the twist at about 60% in. The writing is horrendous, and the internal dialog of the FMC was one of the most painful things I have ever experienced.

Wow! What an absolutely horrific and sick story. Im a pretty tough human, and it takes a lot to get to me, but this did it. More than once, I was physically nauseated and had to turn the audio off and take a break. As a child abuse survivor myself, this is unimaginable to me. There are so many victims and also so many people who enabled this monster. Read it if you are a fan of true crime, but know it's heavy AF!!!

This little book is soooo good. I love how Siena writes. She makes it so easy to get engrossed in the characters and their stories. The spice and dirty talk was 👨🍳💋

This book was a lot from the very start! I felt a lot of self mirroring between myself and Georgia based simply on her family of origin dysfunction. A super religious mom & dad with selective sin recognition. It was so much more than that. I do not really have words to describe it. I think I will find myself thinking of this book randomly for awhile.
