A fellow budding romance writer recommend this book as my introduction into the world of Penny Reid. I now owe them a bottle of something bubbly. They lamented, that they envied me because I had the joy of experiencing her work for the first time. I laughed. But after reading the story I totally get where she is coming from. I actually delayed finishing the book for 3 days because I didn't want the story to end. A bit weird right? Luckily there are more "smart romances" to devour in the Knitting in the City series.

I dove in on the advice of my friend knowing nothing of the story. It surprised, delighted (yes I said delighted) and entertained me. I found myself craving (much like Quinn) the lead character Janie's next obsessive factoid-driven fountain of thoughts. She's smart, she's funny and I kinda want to be her friend.

Go read it now. I envy you the joy of getting to experience the story for the first time.

I got an advance copy from the author and binged it in two days. It was hot hot hot and I had to stop every now and again to cool down.

This book isn’t for the faint of heart. The author isn’t afraid to go here, there and everywhere with the steamy scenes. Yet there’s a sense of authenticity in the writing that you don’t often see in erotic romance stories. The lead characters are on the bad boy/good girl spectrum but they are more than those shallow tropes. Julian is deeply emotional and Sapphire is almost insatiably curious. The secondary characters are also compelling.

The writing is fast, ferocious and down right fun. If you are looking for a fresh take on the erotic format, look no further. Lessons on Seduction satisfies.

This story is how I wish 2020 actually went. Although published in 2019 most of the events take place in a fictional 2020. It’s so much better than reality.

I was nudged to read this book by a friend. Not really in the mood for a romance, I was a bit hesitant. But this story picked me up and whisked me away into a funny, hopeful and oh so romantic tale that I could not put down. I feared it would be royal family fan fiction or political pontification. And yes, there is a backdrop that contains wisps of those. But it is, at its core, a love story. A lovely, beautiful, romantic love story.

This is me, nudging you, go read Red, White and Royal Blue.
