I don't know what it is about how Abby crafts a story, but she captures the joy and the pain of living and loving in equal measure. I'm snorting at the hilarity on one page and then tearing up at the emotions on the next. She has a rare gift for making a story feel like a lived experience, with all the highs and lows that it entails. Also, her craft keeps getting better and better, which makes her books even more of a pleasure to read. Go get you some Sam and Xavier...you *might* cry, but you'll *definitely* fall in love. πŸ’–

I enjoy a solid lore/fae-based story, and a dark, creepy vibe, and this book had both of those in abundance! The content and trigger warnings for this one were extensive, so pay attention to them and adjust accordingly. I am definitely interested in how the rest of the series plays out. πŸ‘€ There were a lot of questions left unanswered (which I'm sure will be addressed in the future), and watch the cliff! She be mighty! πŸ₯΄

I think the strength behind Perkins and Vance's writing lies in their ability to make readers care about every one of their on-page characters. The way they build relationships that feel authentic, even though the cast is made up of supernatural creatures, is pretty dang impressive. 😍 And the humor is next level. 🀣🀣 I adore this series, and this book specifically, because Summer is such a great foil to Max, and also, they are really hot together. πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯😏
