I actually really enjoyed this book more than I thought I would. I honestly didn't expect it to be such a slow burn (kinda) and be as long as it was, but I still enjoyed myself a lot even though it did drag a bit at times and also felt kinda rushed at the end.

I liked Colton and Kaden's relationship a lot. I liked their banter and growth as friends and a couple and it felt very realistic in a sense. There were some things I didn't really care for, like some of the dialogue between their hockey teammates was kinda questionable and a little cringe here and there. That Brittney Spears joke was kinda unnecessary and unless I missed it, why didn't Colton and Kaden use protection when Kaden literally just had sex with Jonathan like the day before?

Other than that, this was a pretty entertaining read and was better than expected. Interested to see where this series goes.

I was looking forward to reading Ryan's story because I liked his character in the other books. this story was cute, funny and I especially loved fabian's found family and their dynamics a lot.

I think the topics covered in this book were covered pretty well, and I liked Ryan and fabian's relationship when it was good. there were times I felt like fabian wasn't being really fair to Ryan about him playing hockey, and sometimes the dialog was a but cringe and I did get kinda bored here and there, but other than that a pretty good addition to the series.

So, the cover caught my eye and im a sucker for queer hockey books so I decided to read this and check it out. come to find out this was a wattpad book, and don' get me wrong, not all wattpad books that are published are bad, but most of the time you can tell it's a wattpad story and from the writing you definitely could tell.

giving the author the benefit of the doubt since they said they were 16 when they wrote this. it was a decent story, the writing was not bad, but not great either. I enjoyed the characters enough and plot to finish it, but i could tell lots of things needed to he fleshed out more, could be improved on.

it still was a cute story to pass the time though and a very quick read.

IT'S FINALLY HEREEE!!

If yall know me you will know that the breakaway series is one of my favorite series ever and I've been waiting on Matts story to come out ever since he was introduced in the others and I wasn't disappointed at all, and I absolutely enjoyed this book SO MUCH!

loved the diversity, the trans, queer, ADHD, and autism representation throughout the book. I didn't want this book to end. I fell in love with matts and sydney, their story was a joy to read. the found family was very entertaining and I love the important topics like religious trauma, homophobia etc that this covered.

I did feel sometimes that some parts didn't NEED to be dragged out and it ended kinda abruptly, but besides a few things here and  there this book was everything I wanted and more! Can't wait to see of this series continues and who's story is next.

I was so excited to see this author come out with a new book. I read all their other books and really enjoyed them, so as soon as I could I read this one and I was NOT disappointed at all.

I couldn't put this book down I read it all in one night. I didn't want Louie and Ryan's story to end I NEEDED MORE!!!! It was wayyyy to short. Loved the demi-sexual representation, absolutely loved the banter and interactions between Ryan and Louie, it was my favorite part.

It was short and sweet, covered some important topics, entertaining and a well written book. I'm looking forward to reading more from this author in the future. Probably one of my favorite reads of this year for sure.

I'm coming back to this book after DNFing it last year. I think I just wasn't in the mood to read it, but I was interested in picking it up again and glad I finished.

seeing Dan and Marc's relationship and hockey journey over the years was very entertaining and interesting to read. it did get a bit repetitive at times even though it was fast paced, but still an enjoyable read nonetheless. It was cool to see the ups and downs of the hockey world as a player and how realistic it would be for two hockey players to be in a relationship.

I liked the characters, especially Sarah and Dan's parents. I liked Larsson and the friends they made too. I think this could've been a little longer cause I felt like it ended a bit abruptly and tbh it was hard to see Dan struggle back and forth between the minors an  NHL, but I still enjoyed this book a lot. I think the author's writing was very straight to the point ans easy to follow too.

So I actually read the second book in this series first, then read the offside series where Carter was introduced then came back and read this one, so I kinda went at this backwards, but it worked out fine.

Carter and Zeke's story was really cute. I liked the dynamics  between them, the banter and I liked the demi-sexual representation in here too. As always I feel like these books end too abruptly. I know it's a series but I still feel like these books never end with full closure on each couple's stories it always feels open ended cause Zeke and Carter only show up at the end in the second book.

Also I can only take so many times when size differences is mentioned. Like from the cover Zeke doesn't seem THAT smaller in height or size from Carter, but when author's, especially in MM romance books, keep mentioning how "small" and "tiny" their partners are, it just gets really annoying like we get it he's a twink lmao. Also there's nothing wrong with casual hookups with two consenting adults, and can we stop with the "people with tattoos and piercing are hoodlums" stereotypes???

So far in the SCU series the second book is my favorite, but I still enjoyed reading about Carter and Zeke a lot.
