Liked the characters & their powers. Also how the whole thing with Libby& Tristan turned out.
I especially liked the way their individual powers get described and how they interacted and grew.

I always thought Atlas was kinda sus but the plot twist was still a good one.

It didn’t throw me off the chair and the worldbuilding was just too little for my taste.
Nevertheless I’m excited to read book two.

Good book!
I’m into big brothers best friend trope and I also thought it was written very emotionally. The entire story was well thought out and I liked that his issues were actually something traumatizing instead of the usual bs stuff.

Quick read that I finished in a couple hours

Not a book for me. I really wanted to like it..
I am a big mystery/thriller/psycho book reader, but this just took forever.
It felt more like a kids detective book and even for YA it was to childish.

Like a playground who-stole-my-shovel-kinda mystery.

This book was something!

I mean the levels of worlds in worlds was *chef’s kiss* !!
I didn’t like the MC that much why I originally wanted to give the book 3 stars because the story itself is okay, but then the last 50 pages happened and that was just

Well.. this book.
I don't know where to start.

Overall it wasn't completely awful because I didn't DNF it. I guess it just wasn't for me.
SpoilerI am not at all a fan of rape fantasies / actual rape and the fact that he saves little girls from disgusting men / the government doesn't really give him more points in the book boyfriend department.
Even if I take into consideration that she does like the "Cat and Mouse" play that they do towards the end of the book (excluding the fact that it could also be severe stockholm syndrome), he did rape her with a gun.. I mean come on with a gun?

It was well written and I also liked her dynamics with her best friend. It was generally easy to follow what was going on and it was fun to explore something that is completely out of the zone of genres I usually read.

But now I will go back to my cute romance books with consent, found family &
Spoilerdefinitely no mmc who rape anyone with a gun
(still can't believe that happened)

I fell in love with this series bc of booktok. Loved ATOD- I adore the characters, their love, friendship and writing style. Scarlett casually writes about love, hate, LGBTQ+, friendship and broken families. I had to read the next one in the Hades and Persephone series, but I was a bit disappointed in the second book. Firstly. NOW that I’ve read the third one I see everything making sense. The character development is insane and I don’t think I’ve seen any author ever do it as well as Scarlett did it.
I can only recommend to EVERYONE to start reading it now because it’s so worth it!
