Frozen by Michael johnston
This book number 1 is absolutely beautiful. And the story was gripping.
We follow 2 people a girl called nat who is special and trying to get to a hidden land on a destroyed earth and Wes the guy willing to risk everything to take her there for the good pay that it will bring him.
In this world there are people with extraordinary gifts which the government want to hunt and kill because of their powers. They are different from standard humans sometimes in their hair colour but the one biggest giveaway is their eyes, they stand out, being bright unusual colours. Usually their eyes tell what powers they have and can use, but Nats, Nats are different, she can hear a voice inside her head, guiding her. She can use different powers not just one, but she can't just summon them, she can't control them fully, not yet, but the voice inside her is guiding her helping her.
We follow them both on an adventure out of Vegas, where there is nothing but cold snow and icy weather, its never ever warm there, into the forgotten and dangerous wasteland that exists outside the borders and government patrol, as they try and find the forbidden blue land said to be of warmth and magic.
I loved the danger, the suspense of not know what was going to happen next, the small budding romance and the mystery.
It was a very good and captivating book, and I cant wait to read the rest of the trilogy

This book started unlike normal books, I love the crossed out word aspect of it, to show different thoughts and feelings.
This book drew me in from the beginning with so many questions like why she was where she is, what's going on, what's wrong with her, it made me want to find out, made me want to keep reading. The main character o felt so sorry for, I connected to her so deeply, I just wanted to hug her and take away everything bad. The world is this book is being torn apart by the government, they want to control everything and kill everyone who rebels, the control what you eat, when you eat, where you love, how and what language you speak, the world is sectioned off, each section has a leading, a cruel power thirsty leader. We follow Juliette who has a dangerous gift, a power that can take life, and due to that she is locked up. Until one day when she is taken out of her cell, but not to be free, to be used.
This book had me go through an absolute whirlwind of emotions all at different times, I hated and despised some characters, especially one, this book is so well written I felt everything, and was so hooked it was unbelievable. The world creating and character building was astonishing. Omg the twists the romance, the tension, I loved every moment of this book. The ending filled my heart with happiness and hope and I cant wait to read the next book

This was such an amazing book that took me on amazing adventures and combats.
It was a little slow at first but I didn't mind that as it was character building and world building for what lies ahead in the book.
We follow 2 main characters Corban and Nathair. There are a lot of characters but they are the 2 the story pivots around.
There were characters I loved from the beginning, characters I despised and some I had suspicions about and not good suspicions. But I loved the diverse array of characters this book had and how it brought them to life, each individual personality, even within a few sentences you can tell what they are like.
In this book we follow corban as he grows up and trains to be a warrior and we learn about an old prophecy about a war of gods which is finally revealing itself and coming true, but no one knows fully what the prophecy is and how it will reveal fully and what will happen when it does.
This book has war, giants, great beasts , secretly, assassinations, and betrayal.
This book took me on such an amazing journey and had my heart racing at times wanting to find out what happens in what ever conflict was going on at the time.
The ending shocked me and made me cry, so many emotions and heart stopping moments, it was amazing to say the least. Definitely worth the 4 stars, I can't wait to pick up the next book in the series and see what happens next as this story unfolds.
