Okay the writing style is cool and super original,  but I just didn't feel a connection to the story

The writing is really beautiful and the story was really interesting. However, the way that the story is structured (moving back and forth from two different characters’ perspectives) really removed a lot of the suspense in many moments.

The first two chapters of this book were closer to a 4 or even 4.25, but the last two were a little boring in my opinion and that lowered my rating.

This book is hard to explain. Imagine if Jesus was a real man. One with parents and siblings, one who made mistakes and was hurt by his own hubris. Through the perspectives of characters with some connection to him we learn about what the region looks like under the occupation of the Romans, what happened when Jesus left his family, and why Judas made the decision to betray his closest friend.

Really beautiful and vivid writing style. I don't think I have read anything with prose like this book has.

This book has convinced me that I can read and enjoy romance novels. It was fast-paced, easy to read, and super sweet. It has the littlest hint of spice, but is mainly character-drama driven. Honestly this book was less about two characters falling in love, than the characters bettering themselves with the support and love given to them by their partner. And the third act conflict wasn't out of nowhere or due to some unrelated misunderstanding. Super cute, really good!

Becky Chambers vibes, I really enjoyed it.

I love sci-fi stories in which something (a skill or technology) humankind uses everyday has to be explained to a race that has no idea what it is. It feels like a refresher-course in being grateful for what you have. And recently I have been very interested in time, and timelessness, and this book discusses it in a very interesting way.
