Well, this was definitely a fast-paced easy read! After getting through an emotionally hard, very long book like THE ASTONISHING COLOR OF AFTER, this read EVERYTHING, EVERYTHING helped to lighten my mood and time spent on one book.
This story has my usual peeves when it comes to tropes like intense insta-love, but going in knowing this fact and not expecting a realistic romance, I was fine with it. I also was already aware of the plot twist so reading through was frustrating knowing the truth and seeing what Maddy had to go through.
I'm also aware of the controversy surrounding this book (which is why I was already aware of the plot twist) and because of such, I'm not going to leave a rating. I fully get why there are readers who are hurt by this story and see the problematic issues surrounding its choice in how it centre's chronic illness and I'm not okay with that.
Take away the attempts at being philosophical about life and what it means to be "actually living" and this was a fun, enjoyable read. I liked Maddy's voice and Olly was an enjoyable enough character. If you also want a quick, easy enough read then I suggest it. But be aware of it's highly problematic thoughts of chronic illness and the meaning of life.

DNF half way through. This book is popular, but it's not my cup of tea. I couldn't get into the story like I hoped to and Finch wasn't a character I liked at all.
I read this a few days ago at my local library. What an adorable picture book and with gorgeous illustrations!
An adorable, fun little read that still makes me smile and inspired years later. The Pony Pals books will always be part of what got me into my love of reading and writing my own stories!
Another great book <3 It never occurred to me how pretty diverse these books are too, considering they're 90's children's books. These are also wonderful post-sad books or very long books to read to give a breather for my brain as well.
This was enjoyable! Twilight Princess is my favourite of the Zelda video games and it was fun to see all the elements of the game put into this manga version. I liked all the aspects of it..except I'm not a huge fan of Link's personality they've given him or the undertones of sexism woven through things like only the boys learning to fight, etc.

I Have Lost My Way first caught my attention for the title alone. I've never read a Gayle Forman book until now and holy moly I was missing out! This story is unconventional, so I can see a reader going either way with their like or dislike of it, but I LOVED it so very much! Forman is a master storyteller - you can tell this through her subtly of coming to understand the characters and let's you the reader come to some conclusions without having it spoon-fed to you.
I loved all three characters, Freya, Harun, and Nathaniel were so distinct as teenagers but also fit together in a strangely perfect way. Most of the time I'd say their one-day friendship (mixed with a little love) would be cheesy and way too fake, but that's where you can see Forman's skill coming into play. With flashbacks to understand where the characters' have come from to this day, you believe that fate did play a part in bringing them together to help each other grow. I loved the bittersweet aspects of feeling alone no matter how many people are around and of course, trying to find your way in life when you've become lost metaphorically.
The only criticism I can think of was I wish we could have seen more of Freya's growth with her sister and mother. I felt that area was lacking in what could have brought my connection to her to the next level.
I honestly loved every aspect of this phenomenal story - the perfect kind of unconventional to the majority of YA novels I've read recently. I can't recommend to pick it up and fall head over heels for these three characters as I did!
