It is time for more book like this one. A brutal and touching story. I really enjoyed how all characters are real and multifaceted, how nuanced their narrative is. Starr is a teenage girl, and she goes through "regular teen" struggles, while also dealing with her grief and trying to fight off a racist system. I can't find the proper words, but it is a must-read.

Weirdly captivating : I couldn't stop reading it, but I can't say why. The story is interesting, yes, but the protagonist and the other characters are all but lovable.
