The second book of a three part mini series, felt exactly like a middle book. Multiple storylines happening at a breakneck speed. Honestly it was bit of a slog at times and needed a bit more werewolf, but some subplot storylines were able to wrap up with a bow. This book was still a grand distraction from life and I have high hopes going into the third book. šŸŗ

Started this in the spring and never finished it. A little humor, a little wit, a lot of tips and tricks for writing and life, and a ton of truth. Essential for any Writerā€™s library.

Absolutely loved this story and found a new favorite author! Feminist, spicy, sacrificial, and timeless.

Written before The Stranger, this book carries some familiar elements and with it questions about the meaning of life and our existence in it. Some of the themes were ā€œof the timeā€ and donā€™t carry the same weight as today. In fact, in light of recent world events, it may have been bad timing on my part. Trigger warning for depressive themes, death, and self-serving misogyny.

One of the most frequently banned and or challenged books. About a black queer boy growing up and sharing his experiences. An important narrative for not only him, but also for those of us that want to learn his story. The audiobook, read by the author, was full of family relationships, family dynamics, his honest experiences,  and most importantly - his truth. This book is a memoir and a manifesto. If it can help someone struggling, someone looking for representation, someone wanting to understand or be understood  - then itā€™s a necessary book.
