This book was fun! A bit of Paris, a little possession, some naughtiness, show-business, and a little splatterpunk.

A full immersion experience. Audio and paperback. A lovely and moving book that will resonate with anyone that didn’t quite fit in, wasn’t quite accepted, and didn’t really know how to navigate being a teenager (raises hand!) I’m glad I read it.

Nothing like the words of Patti Smith to give depth and perspective to everyday living and writing.

I haven’t read this book since being a freshman in high school, but I have fond memories of my literature class and how I loved the dynamics between Gene and Phinnias. The book hits differently now, but I still reflect on the book and that time with great fondness.

My first shifter romance. LOL. The cover was amazing, the story was okay, the spice was medium. A fantastic pick for GarbAugust! I don't think I'll be continuing the series, but you never know.

A lovely little gem of storytelling. Having read the author’s note made the story all the more interesting.

I really enjoyed the writing of this novella. An eerie story full of twists, turns, and a lot of blood.

James Baldwin’s writing blows me away. So honest, frank, heartfelt, and in your face. This is my first Baldwin novel, and absolutely not my last.
